Please help! Indent question

I am trying to convert an MS Word doc file to epub on Calibre and having a problem. The spacing of my indentations are not consistent.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I went into the "Look and Feel" option and changed the Indent Size field to "no change" since my document already had indentations. But when I view the converted file on a tablet, the indentation of each paragraph varies by a few spaces.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!

How is your Word documented formatted? Styles throughout, or, tabs / spaces to cause indents? If styles, are you consistent in how they are used.

I used tabs for each paragraph indent. Is that incorrect?

You will want to use styles.

Think this way. Letters, words, punctuation marks make up the content of what you are writing.

Styles define how it is displayed.

So using spaces or tabs to control layout is a problem.

I am not sure how to use styles to indent my paragraphs, so should I just remove the tabs at the beginning of each paragraph and set the indent on Calibre?

Thanks!

@nmc2136 - In Word select/highlight a paragraph, click on a Style in the Home group, use Normal style for the body the text. If you right click a style you can Modify its properties - Formats->Paragraph for indentation spacing etc, Formats->Fonts for type faces etc. The standard keyboard shortcut to apply Normal Style is ctrl/shift/n.
