Hi there,

I am trying to revive a Kobo glo. I hope it is not damaged and I would like to give it a try with a new sd card. I attached an image of the screen how it looks now. This is how i founded after not using it for 5-6 months. I tried the soft reset. Nothing. I was able to do a factory reset, i mean the led was blinking white rapidly but again the screen didn't change. Can somebody tell me from where to download an updated image of the internal sd card? Or if you think it is damaged just let me know so I will not waste time with it anymore.

That looks like a broken substrate. I hope I'm wrong on this.

If I'm not, your screen is worthless.

Yes, it looks like a broken screen to me as well. I don't think there is anything that can be done with it.

I think that the internal sdcard of my Kobo Glo is broken, when I insert it on my ubuntu pc, it mount 3 partitions and after 2 seconds they disapper with an error. I'd like to change it so I need a the image. Davidfor, will you save also my Glo?

I'll write this for people that have the same syntoms. The Glo is stucked with the word "Restoring" in several languages on the screen. If I try to charge it I get the led blinking dark blu and green few times then it get blinking light blue.
I also tried several kind of reset without success, also the one suggested in this thread with power button 20sec, hold home button till blinking led but I don't get the led blinking.

A request followed by five requests in less than 30 minutes is absurd. Posts in two long running thread, a PM, a visitor message and a new thread. One request is enough. I will see it. If I don't it is because I am not here. For your first, I was asleep. For the rest, I was on my commute. The response was sent within five minutes of me seeing a request. Which meant it was sent less than ten minutes after I visited this forum. Then I discovered all the rest. All you did was make more work for me as I had to check each of the requests to make sure they weren't different.

To anyone needing an image: Please post a request in the thread for your device. I will send a response as soon as I see the request. If I don't reply to the post it is because I am not here. Sending me a PM instead WILL NOT help. If I am not here to respond to the post, I am not here to respond to the PM. It just means I have to double check the responses I send. And sending me a Visitor message is a waste of time. I rarely look at them. Posting in the threads allows someone else to respond if I am not around.
