heh. believe me, this is my policy. i'm spending micropay dollars here though, so it's money already spent (this is the danger of fictionwise !!). no euros are coming out of my (recently emptied down to the lint in the bottom) pockets. i'll try to keep some micropay for the smaug prequel, though, definitely : that is a "don't miss it" book if there ever was one.

In a lesser time than this, in a land that has had men and elves and dwarves and even hobbits traverse it and decide that there were obviously lands far away that had better prospects, there was born a dragon. As you may know, there are few dragons spawned in these days and even then, there were fewer and fewer being hatched. This dragon, who later came to be known as Smaug the Great, was born to a dragaon couple who had spent the centuries hoping for a quiet miracle, nothing so much as the hundreds of offspring brought forth by Troppa, nor the dragon child that was Grendle, rather, Harv and Vera were merely hoping for a single viable egg...

Ummm .... no?? Knee-highs are a type of socks. Sometimes rather thick and woolie?? In the States, we don't call them "hose" unless they are of a rather thin and fine material.

And, trying to put hose on a dragon .... well you'd just get all sorts of snags in them. Scales, you know. Knee-high socks, however, would be just the ticket to keep a dragon's lower legs all nice and warm in those cold Middle Earth winters.
