I've read the first three reviews so far and it's worrying that all three think that if you have the PW there's no need to upgrade. As I have the kobo H20 as my main ereader I'm wondering if I should cancel my order.

However there is no substitute for a side by side comparison between the Voyage and the Aura H2O. Hopefully some blogs will show those pictures soon. For me, I am happy I didn't jump on the "buy" bandwagon. I am satisfied with the Fire 6 for my Kindle needs. |

The Voyage plus a case (I've ordered the Belkin) plus insurance is £234 A PW2 wifi plus the insurance ( I already have a case) is £129 Now I have the Kobo Aura H20 I'll use that as my main ereader with just a Kindle for travelling. I guess I need to sit down and have a long think. ![]() It's comparing logic vs my heart Last edited by Josieb1; 10-20-2014 at 11:02 AM. |

I'll never not have a Kindle but the advantages of a Kobo for fonts, margins and books not purchased from Amazon outweigh the convenience of whispersync.

Having owned or used every eink kindle model since the 1st generation (I'm a gadget junkie and ereader geek like most of you), I can say with confidence that the paperwhite clearly feels like the perfect ereader. There's nothing about it that I dislike.
All of the various generations of kindles have felt like an improvement over the last... The most disappointing upgrade (which I wish I hadn't done) was paperwhite v1 to v2. It's been 2 years since paperwhite came out... v1 and v2 are basically identical. The voyage is expensive, but it at least is a completely new device. It looks excellent. The impression that I get is that it isn't worth $260 (device + case) if you already have a paperwhite, but if you're an ereader geek and enjoy the latest & greatest devices, and have the disposable income, go for it. The reviews have just made me more excited. ![]() |

I've just bought the Kobo Aura H20 so any kindle I have will be a secondary ereadrer going forward which is why I am debating. I have to have a lighted kindle but maybe just not the Voyage.
Edited to say hubby has told me to stand fast and wait to decide until I can hold it in my hands. Last edited by Josieb1; 10-20-2014 at 12:08 PM. |

I buy books where ever I want and have never had a problem putting them on my K3. Now I do keep the original downloads in separate folders on my PC which identifies the source, but once I import them into Calibre, I then email them to my wifi K3 without issue. So far. ![]() |

I only had time to read the arstechnicia review, but that sorta has me re-thinking spending so much on the Voyage when most likely, the PW2 will provide the internal lighting that I so desperately want (over the unlighted K3). Hmm... is it really worth another $80 for the touch buttons and the 300 ppi screen?
And here I thought I was resolved to hold onto my Voyage order. Decisions, decisions.... Well, I still have nearly 3 weeks to ponder my choices. |

After reading a few reviews, my gadget lust took over. I'll buy a Kindle Voyage on my next trip to America (which probably won't happen until late-1Q2015). I own a PW, and really love it (despite the occasional sluggish page-turn, or the slightly uneven light).
I'm not a huge fan of the Voyage price-point, but Amazon won again... |

![]() With a Kobo I can add my own font, alter margins to eliminate wasted space, add books via Calibre which auto populate the correct collection. I can use an SD card for extra space. Cloud Collections basicly threw a hammer in my ability to manage large collections of non Amazon books. I'll always have a Kindle. I have a large collection of Amazon purchased books, plus when travelling it's handy to be able to email a book to my Kindle. But as my home ereader of choice the Kobo H20, and before that the Kobo Aura trumps the Kindle. For traveling and holidays away the reliability of the Kindle surpasses Kobo but at home it's the other way around. |

The Arstechnica review confirmed my fears.
This is basically a 300dpi PaperWhite. If that is worth the upcharge, then by all means, be happy with your purchase. The software, archaic web browser, screen refreshes, speed, are all the same as the PW. Amazon needs to go the extra mile. I'm all for paying for a premium product, just give me one. They got the price correct for premium, just forgot about the product. Last edited by Zimmy; 10-20-2014 at 02:38 PM. |

I've cancelled the Origami cover. I've still got the Belkin on order, that's the one I want unless the Fore Front case is perfect.
