When will there be a new contest? It's been a long while since there was one.

Did anyone buy anything in the weekend promo? I didn't, and as far as I'm concerned it's a waste of time when Kobo only permits one to choose from a list of books of their choosing. If they at least provided for genre sorting the list it would make it easier to search - but I stopped around the second scroll down. Definitely nothing in those I scrolled over that I would have downloaded even if they were free. |

I thought about it, but the one book I was interested in was the third in a series. I have the first (free) and would have been willing to buy the second for half off - but the second book wasn't eligible for the promo. O_O

I sampled a book by Mark Leslie (He had a thriller on the sale rack that led me to a werewolf one. I can't remember the title.) Turns out the werewolf one was only a short story for 2.99 and not in the promo so I passed on that. Then there was a cozy I still need to sample. Lora Weaver? Uhm. Yeah, that was it. I think it was the second in the series, but the boxed set is in one of the sales. I can't remember which sale, but I think it's 3 books in the boxed set. It sounds good, but there was a hint of a "Second" guy in the picture and I don't read love triangles so I have to go look at the reviews and sample. I have read Lindsay Buroker (Urban fantasy and fantasy) but not the one in this sale. I already own it or it would have been on my list. I really liked the book of hers that I read (Torrent) --since I haven't read the current one one sale, I'm not sure if it is fantasy or UF because she writes both. I've also read Connie Shelton (cozy). They caught my eye because they take place in NM (My home stomping grounds). The book wasn't but a little slower than I prefer my cozies. I know, I know. Cozies are not known for being thriller rides. I like'm pretty zany. I agree that it would be helpful if the codes worked on more books! I personally thought the list skewed too much romance and PNR, but they never have a lot of cozy/general mystery in the mix. I love UF, but most of the UF ones I looked at were actually PNR. There's one other I need to sample, but I forgot to blog about it so now I gotta go through the list and find it again before end of today. I better hope my client is late! |

I didn't buy anything from Kobo. I did however go through my wishlist. If we do get another Kobo contest with good codes, then I'm prepared. Otherwise all my business is going to Amazon.

This was the first time I've seen them split it by various discounts. And have it restricted so much to the lists. I'm not sure what the experiment will yield as far as data...

I scrolled trough the list, but nothing interesting that I already do not have. I hope we do get another Kobo contest with good codes, since couple of books on my wishlist released this month are couponable.

I did actually take the time to go through the lists, but didn't see anything I wanted to read.

I didn't purchase anything, but as a romance reader, I thought the lists were better than nice (or, at least, had some books I'd be interested in if I didn't have them yet). Honestly, so long as a book is couponable, I rarely settle for anything less than 50% off. The contests have totally spoiled me, and I have a lot of titles to tide me over the next one. It's the 21st where I am, and the 50%/35%/25% codes are still working for me. Which brings me to this: I don't know if anyone is aware or if this glitch is selective, but save90bk, which I haven't used before, still works for me on this selection, and this one. U.S. account. |

I tried the links whilst logged into the Aus site and save90bk worked on the few books I tested on the first list, and some books I tested on the second list. For example, Elizabeth Peters' 2 books didn't accept the code on the second list, but other books did. Edit Tested lists on the India site but the code didn't work. I have a question about using a Kobo gift card. I bought one in Australia and gifted it to the email I use for Kobo. It shows up as a credit in the India store and says it'll be used on my next purchase. However, when I go to pay, Kobo wants the gift card number, and I can't find it anywhere. I've checked my receipt, my Payment tab on Kobo, etc. How can I use the credit without putting in the gift card number? Or where do I find the gift card number? Thanks! |
