^That's curious. I've pretty much been able to use any code Kobo sends me regardless of time restriction. I considered they'd configured to activate the codes on a set server time, not local time.

Similarly, I have this "we've missed you" code that's being sent to me every month as it remains unused. Says it's valid for only a week, but it works any day of the month.

I have tried the coupon codes from the weekend sale outside of the weekends (early in this case) and they did not work on the books. But as we often find out, the rules are not only flexible at Kobo they are rather random.

Each 25%, 35%, and 50% discount code is valid for a one time use. One 25% off code per person. One 35% off code per person. One 50% off code per person. Discount will be confirmed at checkout once code is applied. Offer valid from October 17, 2014 at 12:00 AM EST through October 20, 2014 at 11:59 PM EST.

Codes don't appear to work on books not on the lists (that I've tried them on, anyway). The selection for each is decent, though, with some relatively new releases. I could be wrong, but they're mostly indie- and self-pubbed. And mainly romance.
Thank you for posting.

I'm wondering if this is going to be in lieu of a contest.

I hate it when they restrict the codes to small lists instead of all non agency

I hate it when they wouldn't let me buy any book at any price I want! That's all.

FWIW, I like the all non-agency codes too. I also like when they are lists like this that I can use them on as many books in the lists as I want. These codes are restricted to once per person per list. There's 3 codes, and I'm sure it's meant to be fun to cherry-pick through but it doesn't make any sense to me. Okay, I only say that because I want more than one book at 50 percent off.

None of the publishers I read are ever on those sale lists
Of course, Dreamspinner is running its own discount right now, but 35% trumps 25% any day. 50% even more so.

I'm assuming that I'm not missing some magical way of choosing the genres I'd like to see instead of paging through the entire lists?

Nope you can't select genres when Kobo lists them like that.

It's just another reason to ignore this promo.

+1
There is never anything I want in the list of permitted purchases.
A total waste of 3 discount codes.

Some of the lists are done by genre, but this one was done by discount instead. There are also more books on this list than normal. It might be that I just discovered the "show more results" button, but when done by genre it seemed to me there was about a page for each genre. There's three pages of books on each discount for this one.

BUT, the ones done by genre are "buy as many at 30 percent as you want" (or whatever the discount. This one has a lot of great books and I can only buy ONE at 50 percent off, one at 35 off and one at 25 off.

Perhaps they do this to drive us crazy. And I wish there was a wish list for sorting later.
