Example: If you copy preventfreeze.sh to .kobo\advboot\, you could insert the line Code:
sh /mnt/onboard/.kobo/advboot/preventfreeze.sh & Code:
echo "Launching koreader" The content of preventfreeze.sh is Code:
while : do sleep 1 done |

Also there is a good deal of information in this post by Frenzie: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=530 The new H2O is a lovely bit of hardware, with alternative readers it would be wonderful! |

I can't quite seem to figure out how to use KOReader. I tried a couple of nightlies and the last stable version from back in April, but the outcome is the same.
When I start it, I see a File Manager. Great, a place to manage and open books from. But if I click on a file, all it gives me is an option to Copy, Cut, Paste or Delete. And none of those options seem to respond to any touches. Am I missing something or would this be some kind of bug related to my H2O? |

@Frenzie, Koreader does not run on H2O (yet).
Simple taps are not recognized by H2O. But new (I think) is the info that a long tap works (that's what it takes to get the copy/cut/paste/delete menu) |

I didn't long-press it though. Just a tap.
Let's see, I suppose I'd need to look at koreader/frontend/ui/input.lua to fix it up? (If I find some more time, that is. I probably played around with the device quite enough for today.) Edit: ah wait, there's also input.c. Yeah, this'll be for another time. Edit 2 (many hours later, after I found some more spare time): Okay, I got it all working splendidly with only a few small LUA changes. I'll stick it up on Github shortly. Edit 3: for those who can't wait, try these changes (only the one in frontend/ui/input.lua is really necessary). Last edited by Frenzie; 10-15-2014 at 12:32 PM. |

Yeah, I was actually expecting to have to write stuff, but as I was perusing the code I realized the Phoenix stuff looked like a pretty good starting point because it was using the same events. I changed that line thinking I'd probably have to make some minor adjustments while wondering where to add some debug output, but as it turned out that was sufficient to make everything work. I'd have done it this morning had I known it wouldn't take hours.

I just tried the latest koreader nightly 841 which includes Frenzie's changes (thanks frenzie!), starting from KSM. It works fine, until I sleep it from the power button - when I wake it the screen does not respond to any taps, all I can do is sleep/wake it again with the power button, a long press of which does not turn it off.

A long press does turn it off for me, but it has to be more of an extra long press (15s or so). Pressing reset with a (small) paper clip is faster. I'm stuck trying to get a grip on what exactly is going on for now (#1007).

My Aura HD running Koreader is frozen and nothing I try will get it to shut down. It's in suspended mode. Neither the power button nor the manual reset hole at the bottom will turn it off. I've tried both methods with the reader connected to my laptop via the charging cable. I also left it charging for a couple hours to see if that would do anything; didn't work.
For some reason the frontlight turns on and off when I press the power button. But that's all that happens. The same page stays loaded, and it says "suspended" on the screen. Anything I can do about this other than sending it back to Kobo? |

(If you were to decide to send it back, you should remove the koreader folder and do a factory reset first.) Have you tried a quick flick of the red power slider? That is all that is usually needed, to suspend or return. Luck; Ken |
