do Kobos support mobi as well as epub?
The answer to that is no, the H2O supports ePub much better then it does Mobi. |

Just putting my 2 cents in... There's a website where you can download books in multiple formats (mobi, epub, pdf, html) and I had used it quite frequently in the past (I just go to the site on my Glo. Mostly with epubs. I just click the download button and the book goes to my library. Then, one day I got ballsy. I click the mobi format and boom, my Glo became stuck in a semi-perma bootloop. If the book is ever displayed on the tiles, or on the library, I had about 10-15 seconds before my Glo rebooted itself. I spent quite a while just trying to be fast enough to delete the mobi book I downloaded... I had a mini-heart attack while it was happening... Ever since then, I haven't tried to put any mobi books on my Glo...

It's worth pointing out that the battery life is down to low power use while eReading rather than large batteries. Once you turn on the power hungry wi-fi the battery drains fast and I wouldn't be surprised if it went flat quicker while web browsing than on your Tablet.

I've tested Kobo web browser on my Kobo Touch and Mini. It was OK but not great. Downloaded books from feedbooks.com. I later used it when in Hospital for a few days. It works best with web sites that have simple version for phones. I even read this mobileread.com forum and posted to forum. Biggest problem was using on screen keyboard. I used a stylus. I could do this for hours without charging my reader. Of course 8 inch tablet is much better with color screen, faster processor, bluetooth keyboard and pinch zoom.
