If the case matches the one found on a production device: PW1: back has a "kindle" emboss, PW2: back has an "amazon" emboss (or the other way around, but I think that's it, and I'm too lazy to get up & check ).

If you have it open, the serial ports are in a different location.
(Different motherboard, different SoC, etc)

If not open, turn it over and check which case-back is on it.
Which only identifies the case back, not the device.
