@Terisa de morgan & PremaEbooks: I intend to add a "Translation credits" line to the main menu where I will credit your work. Could you tell me how you would like to be credited? Any of "anonymous", your MobileRead forum name, your real name (first, last, or both), or an email address will do.

@Terisa de morgan & PremaEbooks: you might see some phrases marked with red exclamation points. This happens when I upload changes to the phrase. Today I changed several, mostly removing spurious quote marks and spaces.
When the English text of a phrase is changed and uploaded, OneSky marks that phrase as "Updated" and shows a red exclamation mark on it. OneSky also shows a red exclamation mark at the top of the page in the filter box. You can use the filter to show only phrases that have been changed. When looking at the translation for a phrase that has changed you will see the red exclamation near the bottom right of that section. After you edit the translation (if you need to, which you probably don't), click this exclamation and choose "Mark as correct". This will remove that phrase from the updated list. EDIT: I have also been adding screen captures of where phrases occur. Let me know if there are some phrases that could use a screen capture and don't have one. They would be much more useful if they said what had changed, such as W total phrases, X new phrases, Y deleted phrases, and Z changed phrases. Someone from OneSky asked for comments about notifications. I will mention this. Do you have anything you would like OneSky to consider changing? |

![]() In my case, I don't need anything special... I told you about this week being very busy, but from monday on I will be active again. ![]() I have seen that you're adding the screen shots, which might be useful in several cases but apart from that I don't have any problems trying to figure it out. If I have any problem with any paragraph I'll let you know ![]() |

That's why the first time I offered to do the translations I told you about the "xml" files.
Correct me if I'm wrong but all you have to do is create a new folder (for example in spanish) with "value-es" and put the string.xml in. I'm translating all the new Onyx apps and that's what we have. I need to be connected 24/7 so no problem for me to use OneSky, but using xml files could be usefull for those who cannot access the page anytime. |

Of course I know there should be different options. I was just explaining why I told him about translating the xml files. At the end they will have to create that folder for each language and put the xml file in it. Any option is fine with me. ![]() |

Of course I know about .xml files. That is what I upload to OneSky and that is what I download from them. That is how the work you have already done is already in the test version pointed at by the link in the sticky post.
Giving everyone a .xml file would be a disaster. I would need to manually merge the files, trying to work out if any phrase had changed. In effect, I would need to re-implement what OneSky (and others like it) have already done. This isn't practical. What I am looking at is whether OneSky's upload facility supports variants in translation. By that I mean if person A uploads a file and person B uploads a file, does it tell us what the differences are? It could be that it does, but it might work only if I upload the files. Some experimentation is needed to see what actually happens. BTW: I need to create two folders, one "values-es-rES" and one "values-es", assuming that Spain Spanish is the default Spanish. Given that today it is the *only* Spanish the answer is obvious, but what happens if someone supplies an es-US translation? Or any of the many latin american Spanish translations? In that case, choosing the default isn't quite so obvious any more. |
