Thank you both, still can't get it to work, neither on families accounts either.

I wonder if it only 'resets' after a certain time period since the code was last used.

I'm about ready to totally give up on Kobo.

SAV50 didn't work on the indie book I tried it on (I have used sav50 in the past). I'm in the US. One of the comeback codes did work on the book. Thanks for keeping those codes up-to-date. I post indie books that I like on my site a lot and I often mention one code or another that is likely to work with the books to help folks out.

My guess is that you've used sav50 within the last maybe 3 months. I'm not sure when it reset, that's just a guess.

You'll need to change your country in the Payments section of your Kobo account.

The countries on the new checkout include:
India
Aus
CA
UK
US
France
Etc

India is probably the best site because all the books take the discount codes. Also the payment is Indian rupees which exchanges well agains other currencies.

Also the Indian ebooks are usually cheaper than elsewhere.

I have found that some of my books disappear from my library when I "move" to another country like India and come back when I move back to North America. This is probably because those books are not available for that region but because of that I have to continue to switch between countries, quite annoying.

Gee that's interesting Bilal, I've never noticed because I only download the epub and immediately import that into Calibre.

On the odd occasion that I've gotten a kepub I've either gotten a refund or can now use the [deleted] plugin (which I would do immediately on purchase).

So, I've never gone looking for books in Kobo Desktop.

I use my credit card. My bank uses a second encrypted log in process for some countries, and India is one of them.

I've never had any problems, even when the books cost me 2 and 3 cents AUD.

You can also use a gift card there from memory. So you buy yourself a Gift Card (that you gift to yourself), in NZ or Aus or somewhere else that sells them, and then use that to buy books in Inda.

Others on here are quite expert at it, but I haven't had to buy them/use them.

Kobo is so thrilled with my 5th anniversary with them that they gave me a 20% discount coupon, anniversary14, expires October 12th.
