The original owner will likely be dead and it'll be a cold comfort to know the Voyage survived the accident and made a very nice gift to whoever happened to pick it up afterwards.

I put my Fire in a Neoprene sleeve when I remember to. BUT ALL I was saying before is the G Glass is Tuff. So getting a case to protect it wouldn't be needed. You can just put it in a bag or purse.
Before buying anything I would make sure HOW it would be holding the KV. I got one of those case that was magnetic for my Fire when I 1st got it. All I did was toss in into the passanger seat on my van so I could get in. Case went on the floor! But the fire landed on the seat! So the case was Worthless! |

3 people in my family have readers, and none have used a cover for over a year; one is an 80+ year old grandmother who occasionally misplaces her Aura HD.
![]() YMMV. |

Sleeve.
You are either transporting it or reading with it. I do not see a difference in use cases between "reading while traveling" and "reading at home". Emphasis reading. When you are done reading while traveling you either close the cover and put it in the bag or get your sleeve out of the bag, put the reader in it and put the sleeve back in the bag. I rather have more work with getting it in and putting it out of "transport mode" and less bulk when reading. For the "but what if someone bumps into you" scenario I do not see an advantage for the cover because a) if it slips out of your hand chances are high it will land on its unprotected screen in either case (since cover is open) and b) without cover there is a lower chance of it slipping out of your fingers since the naked version is lighter and has (IMO) more grip. |

If you have a naked Reader and you drop it, you have more chance of damage then you do in a case. Plus, if you have a sleeve, you have to unzip the sleep, get the Reader out of the sleeve, put the sleeve away, and then you can read. Then when you are done reading, you have to get out the sleeve, put the Reader in the sleeve, zip the sleeve and then put it away. Try doing this on busy transportation. Not a good idea. A case, take out the Reader, open the case, read. Done reading, close the cover, put the Reader away. Done. Also, if you are on say public transport and you get bumped, the read can go flying out of your hands and without a case, more chance of damage. Think of a case like a seat belt. Some people just have to get used to using one. Use it often enough and you do get used to it like it or not when you first use such. |

For a klutz like me, a case is absolutely necessary. I am able to drop electronics anywhere and anytime. 😊 |

It's not just public transport (that was just an example). It is reading anyplace where the Reader could fall onto a hard surface such as a wooden floor or tiled floor (if you read in the bathroom).

I've happily used sleeves only for my entire use of eReaders and tablets, and never once had a breakage.
I create sleeves out of the few bubble-mailer envelopes I get in the mail. My stuff doesn't get stolen either, because it looks like generic cheap mail. |

Four eReaders later, all still in perfect condition with no cover! I could probably buy a new PW2 with all the money I've saved. Get a sleeve, sure but save the covers for your cell phones which you're far more likely to drop (and cost a lot more too)

It really depends on your personal usage
Commuter especially must have a cover I mainly use my KV at home so I figured a sleeve is enough plus I dislike the added weight..you know one of the selling point of KV is how light it is A zip sleeve can also prevent dust from intruding my KV I am amaze at the magnetic cover idea though, waiting for a review to see how it actually works ![]() I like flush screen very MUCH! It looks great and prevent tiny particle stucking at the bezel..erk.. Flush screen is one of the reason I didnt go for H20 |
