P.S. I was shopping in the US store when I tried the two books off the list.

Ah, I see. Yes, they do some country specific sales. You'd think it would say in the rules, but perhaps that's asking too much?

Same here. I checked using US and UK stores; code didn't work for anything I tried it on (and I tried more than a few).

Then maybe it's single use???? (Hopefully @jessc got to use it if that's the case...)

Something's definitely weird... unless it was, in fact, a one-time use code and someone else already used it? I hadn't tried before, because none of the books on the list particularly interested me. So I just posted it in case it helped anyone else. After reading your comments, I just logged into Kobo and tried the code for two different books on the list and it didn't work for either.

So either someone enjoyed it (I hope so!) or Kobo is even more screwed up than usual...

My guess is a single-use code. Perhaps the lucky user would speak up to confirm that it worked once?

I used my last decent coupon from the contest to get 45% off a $3.99 book. I don't think it was worth the almost $2 I saved since something glitched and the book didn't end up in my library.

After 28 minutes with customer service, I got it straightened out. It was only my own ridiculous persistence that got me the book. The CSR wanted me to email back my receipt and wait 24 to 72 hours for a refund but I insisted she stay on hold with me until she received my receipt and then give me the book and not a store credit because I didn't want to lose the coupon.

I feel both victorious and kind of stupid that I wasted half an hour on less than $2 savings.

I drove 5 miles from one post office to another last week so that I could mail a book media mail rather than regular mail. I saved 3 dollars, but had to drive 5 congested miles, stand in line (and I'd already mailed something else from the other post office) and generally put myself out. But see, I didn't want to pay the higher fee at the first post office. You can't get the media mail rate from the machine and the line at the first post office was an hour long. I could have just paid the 3 dollars, but, nooooo. I drove across town...

Hmmm. I had a similar issue with a 45% coupon from the last contest - which was one that someone had posted. It took Customer Care a few days to reply to my email, and I eventually got a refund, buy no mention of replacing the coupon. Hope this is not a sign of anything sinister when it comes to contest coupons ...

If you know the media mail postage rates (or can look them up) you can weigh your package on the machine and then buy the amount of postage you need. There should be an option for "other" amount of postage somewhere on the screen (it's been a while since I used one, so sorry I can't be more specific!)-- you can set it to any amount you need and then print it out. Then you'd just need to write "media mail" on your package and you're good to go!
