I'm in Ottawa myself, but the cost of the gasoline needed for a full-scale search of the city would easily equal the cost of buying myself a new H2O...

I just get an email for Kobo aura h2o now available online in the US. I have created a Kobo Aura H2O wiki page.

Given the track record of the community mailboxes? Probably not much safer than leaving it on your front porch.

I fear this is the Glo debacle again where those who pre-ordered direct from Kobo didn't get it till days after they could have picked it up at a store. I wasn't concerned about not getting a tracking number yet, as the Aura HD direct showed up on release day even though I hadn't gotten tracking info yet. But no H2O has shown up on my doorstep yet . Ordered mid-morning on the 1st day of pre-orders direct from Kobo. I'll be very annoyed if it doesn't show up tomorrow. Fortunately it would be a 45 minute drive to pick one up in store likely, so I'm not as cranky as I would have been if I could have gotten it in store locally.
So you're lucky you were more than a 45 minute drive (more like 8 hours) so it's safe from me

US Buyers?

Has anyone in the US who pre-ordered via kobo.com received a tracking email? On Monday I received my Invoice (2nd email) for the pre-order I did on 1 September, but haven't received any tracking info and sure didn't have any packages delivered today containing my new H2O.

I have received the same 2 emails, but no tracking. Last time I ordered from Kobo (an Aura) I don't recall getting a tracking number, it just showed up via USPS sent originally through Canada Post. I'm expecting a full 7 day wait, if not longer.

For anyone in the UK looking for one I got this email last night

Thank you for contacting Kobo Customer Care. It was our pleasure assisting you.

Regarding your question about, who will be selling the KOBO H20 in the UK?

a. Kobo.com in the UK
b. Argos – Oct 15th
c. WHSmith – TBD
d. We’ll be uploading a matrix by country/retailer of Aura H20 availability

It looks like Argos is more on the ball than WHSmith

I'm going to try and sit on my hands, I really want to see it in a store once I have the new Kindle Voyage in my hands, so I can compare the screens. Even though I read DRM free ebooks I find the kindle ecosystem works well for me as I can read on tablets or my kindle and whispersync keeps everything sync'd.

But it's going to be hard to be good..........

Kobo also claims an ecosystem that does this job as well. I have not heard how well it works. It would be nice if it supported all books and not just the ones they sell. And they even read mobi books.
