Kobo Discounts: Coupon Codes + Discussion

Some codes do bookadmin, i've bought in France before but these region specific contest codes wont sadly. You could try the comeback codes maybe?

I too am waiting for some codes that don't mind long haul as i mainly shop in hong kong where prices are better and more books seem to be code valid.

My ebooks go through a certain cycle. I buy and download them into Limbo, where they sit until I have a chance to process them. That's where I fix any bad metadata, standardize some of the CSS (usually font sizes and text indents), add any autograph pages I've collected that apply, and otherwise prep the book. Once that's done, it goes into my library and, if it's a book I haven't read or one I have read but always want to have available, onto the Glo. Plus, I've got a pretty big backlog in Limbo, enough that I wish there was a good way to automate the processing. Unfortunately, I know that books are just too individual to submit to automation. Thankfully - if indeed that's the right word - the new restrictions on Kobo contest codes have slowed down my ebook acquisition, so maybe I can start getting more stuff out of Limbo and onto the reader, making the nickname reality and then an understatement.

I would say that makes two of us beyond help!

I do something similar. How easy it is varies with each book. But thanks to Calibre, Sigil, and Modify ePub, it's easier then it would be done without these tools.

Jap. Kobo rarely sends codes that are right there in the email which you can use on books you want. Much more often they send a link which takes you to lets say 50% off books. But the books are always in Japanese.

Without using any competition codes I have bought 12 books from Kobo so far this month. For all of them the Kobo price was already either cheaper or about the same as Amazon and elsewhere, so even a 25% code means 25-35% cheaper than buying anywhere else.

The falling NZ dollar is making a difference, since Kobo charges in NZ dollars the Kobo prices are staying the same while Amazon and others are increasing due to the worsening exchange rate.

Only problem is I have just used the last of the active Comeback codes, so hopeflly there will be a new 30% multiuse code or something like that next month.

That explains why I can't find the codes. There aren't any

Added: Today they sent me an email asking if I want to do a customer satisfaction survey. Yeah, my first comment would be, "Why is everything in Japanese?"

Another thought about Japanese Kobo.

In addition to the Kobo account in rakuten.kobobooks.com glitch (showing that they're reluctant on merging), here are their recent movements:

So IMO, it seems like Rakuten is trying to separate their Japanese Kobo users from the other countries in the world.

It does seem that way. The word Kobo isn't emphasized.

The email offers I receive must be for these RaCoupons. Google translate isn't able to translate the emails so I can't be sure.
