It's a let down. They should have released the Voyage at $150 or lower. it should have just replaced the PW. Also, they really needed to increase screen size for the Voyage without increasing the size of the device. |

I bought the PW2 literally days before the announcement. Might I have held off? Maybe... though my Nook STG was driving me nuts. (I appreciate the work that has gone into CoolReader for eInk but ColorDict is not the same as a real dictionary, and there was way no of keeping my progress in sync between my phone, Slatebook, and eReader). The price is a real bummer, and quite honestly, as there looks to be little in the way of a software upgrade (with any trickling down to the PW2 anyway), I don't think the pseudo-physical page turning buttons warrant such a steep price tag. The screen on the PW2 is a vast improvement over the Nook... much more evenly lit, and very sharp text. I won't go over why I love the PW2 so much here... but I do so far... and the Voyage won't be any better at the already great software level. All I need now is to find my perfect case (I've returned three to Amazon already; waiting on a Marware Eco-flip tomorrow). (Side-note: I don't like this whole thinner is always better thang either: I actually found the PW2 in its official cover very uncomfortable to hold.) |

I would have picked 1, 2 and 3 if I could have. I did pick 2. Just no real reason to buy one, but, if there was a reason, it would be more expensive than I would want to pay for an eReader. And 3), I'm happy with what I have.

I choose all of them! 1. Price --higher than I can afford, because 2. I have so many readers now (but I can rationalize another, if the price is right) 3. My current readers are doing just great! And I find their software superior to the Kindle. 4. At this time, the Voyage does not offer me enough value to compensate for the price. Reviews could change my mind, though the price is still a barrier, for me. |

I'm with booklover6 & dsmid. All of the above. As I can't choose more than one option, I'll just not vote. |

It's the screen that warrants the price increase, not the page-turn buttons. It's a new screen with a very high-resolution, and probably very low production yields at first.

I am interested in how glare-proof this new flush screen is, though. Don't get me wrong, the Voyage I'm sure will be awesome, but not £169 plus the cost of a decent cover awesome.

It's good that Amazon are now offering three different price points into the Kindle ecosystem, with budget, mid-range, and premium devices. For me personally, I believe it will be worth the money, hence the reason I've ordered one.

It will be interesting to see what the line-up is for next year as you could have either: PW2, Voyage and Voyage 2 or KBT, PW3 (a Voyage without the higher dpi display) and Voyage 2

I'm very happy with my PW1, I bought it fairly late in the release cycle and the lighting is even. So I don't think I would upgrade. I am curious enough about the higher-res screen to want to see it for myself when it comes out (hopefully at Best Buy). If I think it looks AMAZING then I might be tempted and then feel sad that I have to wait another year because I really can't in good conscience get a new reader when mine is doing great and is not much more than a year old. However, I am surprised that they didn't introduce new fonts and typographic controls to go along with the better screen. That would be another temptation for me. Oh, and I was never in the "I miss the buttons" camp so that side buttons don't add a lot of value to me. eP |

I think that each one of us needs to make a decision as to what we are willing to pay for the 30% faster processor and the light sensor. Personally I have not upgraded in two years, the upgrade two years ago was what I refer to as a forced upgrade, my kindle three bit the dust and I had to get something to get the job done. In addition to the added speed of the voyage over the paper white, I need to add to that an additional 30% since the paper white 2 is 30% faster than the paper white one, however I am not sure that 60% will get me to the $200 level, had they offered that at the paper white level I would have bought for that. What is the light sensor worth to you? My opinion $20, that gets me to $130, I need $70 more in value to get to the $200 level and I am not sure that the voyage offers something for the additional $70. Are you willing to pay $70 for the additional screen resolution?
