Box set Hometown Heroes--Hotter Ever After (Pets for Vets Charity Bundle) $1.99
Spoiler:
This Pets for Vets charity bundle is available for a limited-time discount.

They’re all hometown heroes, guys from small towns who’ve made a name for themselves, big or small, who’ve withstood the odds and risen to the challenge, who are heroes in their own right.

Presenting a contemporary romance bundle of 16 novels with happily-ever-after endings, including previously published readers' favorites and brand-new material.

A LITTLE HARMLESS SEX by USA Today author Melissa Schroeder--When Anna falls for her best friend Max, it might be true love, or the biggest mistake of her life.

CHANGE THE GAME by USA Today author Lucy Monroe--Alex is looking for revenge. Isabel is looking for a relationship without those pesky things called emotions. Neither will get what they're looking for, but a whole lot more!

WILD RIDE (Changing Gears, Book 1) by USA Today author Nancy Warren--Trouble is piling up in the small town of Swiftcurrent, Oregon with hints of a treasure missing since WWII, a motorcycle riding bad boy history prof, a sexy librarian and a murder. It all adds up to a very Wild Ride.

HEARTBREAK ON A STICK by USA Today and New York Times author Sabrina York--When the man who broke her heart ten years ago suddenly returns to town—a hot shot movie star—Gina Fox is determined to avoid him. But for some reason, Jason Sherwood is pursuing her again.

MADRONA SUNSET by bestselling author Jami Davenport--Meet a wounded warrior suffering from paralyzing guilt and a woman pining for her dead husband--both damaged souls craving comfort for a moment or a lifetime.

BRACE FOR IMPACT by bestselling author Allie K. Adams--Bush pilot Reid Cavanaugh’s life is turned upside down when he takes a fare that ends up driving his plane into the ground and him into the danger surrounding her.

HONORABLE SACRIFICE by bestselling author Destiny Blaine--Hired to protect an affluent family with embarrassing secrets, Audra McAllister reconnects with a small-town hero willing to risk everything to win Audra’s heart.

SHE'S WORTH IT ALL by bestselling author Cathryn Cade--Mase Barnett is a hometown hero with a secret. Natalie Cusco has a broken heart only a strong man can heal. Will this wounded hero risk everything to show her she's worth it all?

DECEIVING DANTE by award-winning author Kate Davies--A stolen car on her front lawn. A sexy cop - looking to arrest her favorite student. A principal ready to fire her. Could Ellie's Monday get any worse?

ROCK, RATTLE AND ROLL by USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn and bestselling author Taryn Elliott--A beachfront cottage, hours of alone time, and plenty of skin-on-skin action is just what the rock star and his new wife ordered—until the future comes much quicker than they expected.

GRAVE DANGER by Golden Heart finalist Rachel Grant--An archaeologist digs up a murder victim in a Northwest archaeological site and must help the hunky local police chief solve the crime before she becomes the next victim.

TURNING THIRTY-TWELVE by award-winning author Sandy James--Jackie Delgado didn't want a new man in her life until a dreaded blind date with detective Mark Brennan turns out to be more exciting than she'd ever imagined.

HIS ONLY DESIRE by Adrianne Lee-- Nick Rossetti married the wrong twin sister. Will the right one ever forgive him? Not if her stalker has his way.

EVEN HEROES CRY by Hildie McQueen--War widow Tesha Washington slowly draws Adam Ford out of the shell that used to be a man, and learns there really is such a thing as starting over.

THE VIXEN & THE VET by bestselling author Katy Regnery--In a Beauty & the Beast reboot, an ambitious reporter tracks down a wounded war vet for a scoop and ends up falling in love with him instead.

TROUBLE WITH A COWBOY by Sandy Sullivan--Can some slashed tires and an ornery bull bring two hard-headed people together for some fun in the sun...and a little more?

Looks like a mix of new and old. Not sure on the individual stories' length. I have the original Loose ID version of the Melissa Schroeder story which was a novella, but I know she's reworked a number of her older stories before she self-pubbed them. There's a note on her website the story is now twice the length it was. I know the Kate Davies story is new (that's the one I'm buying the bundle for). Not sure about the others.

Releases Monday Sept 29th

I have two 45% and one 55% coupons if someone wants them, normaly this wouldn't be considered good coupons but since the contest was so bad I think this time they are.

If you want one pm me, if they are still unclaimed later in the day I will post them in the coupons thread.

I've only read the book by Rachel Grant. It's pretty good; I always learn a lot - especially about archeology - from her books.

Oh Good night! Now I have seen or read it all! suing a lawyer like Jane is just a waste of author's money. EC is now on my Ban list. I think we should all add it. No one needs to give this crazy person any money.

I haven't purchased many titles from EC since around 2006 (though I did pick up some when they were on sale at ARe and there was a 50% back sale a few years ago) Partly because the ultra-BDSM, etc stories that they sell a lot of now just aren't my cup of tea, but mostly because of the owner's behavior.

Now with authors, editors, etc not getting paid I for sure won't be buying any more.

I used to buy from them all the time, but I stopped when other ebook sites started using libraries (so that you could re-downloaded the books you bought), and Ellora's Cave did not. I think they did later put in a library option, but I'm pretty sure it didn't include my earlier purchases. Which I'll have to dig off my backup computer, if they still exist. Sigh. I tried signing onto the site again, but of course, it didn't recognize my e-mail and password combination. Whatever.

It seemed like they didn't want to catch up to the industry, even then. Now they've just gone ... batty. And they blame Amazon and Kindle Unlimited, and self-published authors (how dare they set their own price?) for everything.

I feel like going to Samhain and buying a bunch of books.

Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon:

Heaven's Rogue by Colleen Shannon, 1st in her Heaven series of quote-unquote time-travel paranormal romances, originally out from Dorchester/Love Spell in 1999, speaking of other now-defunct imprints that failed to pay their authors and eventually imploded. But is it really time "travel" if there's no vortex/machine thingy and the traveler just kind of statuesquely* Rip Van Winkled their way through the centuries until the post-modern age?

Michelangelo’s David awakens in modern NYC, furious at his best boyhood friend, Michelangelo, for putting his nakedness on display for centuries. He is forced to seek the meaning of his rebirth, or on the dawn of the new millennium he will turn back to stone. In the process, the statue becomes in the modern world the man he failed to be in the Renaissance, ironically transforming everyone he meets--including the art historian who wishes him into being and her friend, the cynical NYC cop who has forgotten the power of dreams. He will have his own role to play in Heaven's design...

* Also, the statue's not life-sized. Does he magically shrink and grow or is he a freakish giant looking for love in all the wrong places (probably not)? Though I'd be impressed if the author gave him lingering foot issues from that time a vandal attacked his toes.

ETA: free again from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon:

Call Home the Heart by Shannon Farrell, mid-19th century Irish historical romance originally out from Dorchester/Leisure in 2004.

Widowed by a shooting accident on her honeymoon, Muireann Caldwell discovers that her wastrel husband Augustine has left her penniless, and almost homeless. She now faces returning to her overprotective family back in Scotland, or charting her own course with the crumbling Caldwell estate in Ireland.

Deciding to remain in Ireland to tackle Barnakilla and its mountain of debt, Muireann turns to the handsome, capable Lochlainn Roche, her late husband’s estate manager, for support.

Lochlainn worries that with Augustine dead, his lifelong home will be forfeited, especially if the young widow decides to run home to Scotland.

But he’s surprised by the strength Muireann displays, and grows to admire her courage and determination, especially as the Irish Potato Famine begins to spread its blight on the land he loves so well.

Muireann struggles to re-build the estate and create a sanctuary all can call home. She grows to love Barnakilla as much as Lochlainn does. Dare he hope she returns the love he has found for her? Or will the sacrifices she is forced to make prove too much for her?

Yes because that what the genre is called. Time Travel Romance. No body does it crazier than Love Spell did.

Eh, my Sci-Fi Sense® is still tingling from that. And not in a good way. It just seems a really lazy way to use "travel" since basically everyone "time" travels that way as they age (unless they do it backwards like Merlin was sometimes rumoured to do), if that's all that takes place in the book.

Oh well, I guess it's like the way that science and pop culture define the usage of the word "theory" very differently and you get to see the clash when creationism gets involved.

Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon:

Cowboy Bargain by Em Petrova, novella-length 2nd in her Dalton Boys series of f/m contemporary western romances. Petrova is both a Samhain author and a Loose ID one, so this may be a bit on the erotic side. Or not. And it turns out we have a cowboy smiley:

Five brides for five brothers…at least that’s the deal the Daltons have struck with their boys. Each son must marry in order to inherit a piece of the ranch they love so much.

When the new ranch hand the Daltons hire asks Cash for assistance, he’s all in—until he learns it involves a Mexican daughter and a marriage license. His first instinct is to run the other direction. But he figures he needs a wife and she needs help, so it’s a damn good bargain.

Maya Perez is desperate to get out of her home city and into the States, where she can make a better life. When her only living family member, her father, sends for her to come to Texas, she’s met by a gorgeous cowboy and an offer of marriage.

Cash figures being hitched to a woman is no different than taking care of cattle, but his bride is driving him crazy. Between her sharp tongue and soft curves, he’s over his head. Finding common ground might be the only way to tame his little bride.

Yes, yes, yes! I have been bugged by these same things on her books. She's had several freebies and these things make me crazy. Is she one of the authors that puts a bunch of tags on the title using "/" between them and making it basically one long word? THAT drives me crazy, too.

I've only read one of the freebies from the three (or four?) pseudonyms she's re-publishing under and it wasn't particularly great, and in fact I remember there were some quite stupid things. It was one in Ireland or Scotland and the heroine sees the hero covered in flower when he breaks into her castle to steal a sacred item, and she thinks he's her brother's ghost. Seriously. So many stupid and illogical things in that book, especially in regard to travelling. I've picked up the other freebies, but haven't been inclined to read another.

WHAT?! I've been offline a few days and totally missed that. Hope she does sue, then the courts will get a look at her books maybe and pay her authors and editors!

I was all set to pick up the latest Dohner next week. . Now I just can't make myself do it. Even with a 75% code.

I'd write to Dohner and let her know. She's too good or a writer to stay with such people.

Thank you!!! I found one for Chrome. My proceeds go to the humane society that gave me my kitty, Macy. <3

It's a mother and daughter team that why there are three names. I understand the daughter is the one putting them to ebook. I am very grateful to be collecting them for free as I bought several of them before that. I have rather enjoyed her books in the past. So I am thrilled and hoping she does released the rest of them to ebook. I've been waiting for one title she's yet to upload.

I don't care about the covers as I can go see the original ones before buying.
