Unhappy Calibre 2x Blocked on Windows XP

Why is Calibre 2x blocked when using Windows XP? QT works on my Windows XP and is supposed to work on all Windows XP machines (per the websites I have visited).

I installed Calibre 2.0 on Windows XP before Calibre 2x was blocked on Windows XP and Calibre is working as expected.

At a minimum a Windows XP user should be allowed to decide if Calibre 2x is installed. In short, the Calibre install package should not block the install of Calibre on a Windows XP machine.

Why are you posting this in the "Feedback" forum? This has nothing whatsoever to do with feedback about MobileRead. Moved to the "Calibre" forum, where it self-evidently belongs.

And the topic has been covered extensively Here In Calibre.

Choices:
UPGRADE Windows,
Switch to Linux
Use 1.48

It's worth noting that Kovid does mention a totally unsupported means of getting calibre to run on XP. See https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...1&postcount=56
