Ahead of the curve...I think

When I bought my Kindle Touch, Amazon came out with the Paperwhite about a month later. Gee, thanks, Amazon. Just bought the Voyage, to be delivered mid-December. |

Exactly so. But 12 months is better than one. Actually, I was going to get a paperwhite (the USB connector on my touch is hinky, it will charge but it won't connect for transfer) but Amazon said hey, James, look at this. And offered terms, only 20% down and four months on the balance.

It has 2 to 3 times more pixels on the screen. That means the fuzzy pictures and maps on old Kindles will now be sharp and teeny tiny.

Hate Touch! I would like to see what its like in the dark. I don't see speakers or even a hookup for headphones...yes or no? Last edited by Barbara1955; 09-25-2014 at 08:12 PM. |

1) You do have to lift a finger on a touchscreen if you want to read what's underneath that finger. And you have to do it over and over again, which really can be a pain for folks whose hands are healthy and youthful 2) with page turning off the screen, fewer fingerprints end up on screen, and some of us are pretty ocd about that. I'd just as soon use dpad nav like the K4 nontouch and never ever touch the screen, but less is still better. Last edited by Marseille; 09-25-2014 at 08:16 PM.

David its not touching the screen that bothers me... tho yea at some point the prints get annoying. It when I fall asleep and in my sleep brush the screen the pages turn! & I lose my place! So this is touch but on the side [I think]

You don't have to understand what makes the KV worth $199, the market right now has indicated lots of people want to buy it for that price. If you don't want it, it's not for you and it doesn't matter. And the PagePress feature fulfills the exact same role as a page turn button, it's on the bezel and it has to be pressed to work. Of course it sounds like touch, buttons sound like touch too. |
