iOS 8 now features wireless microwave charging. Somebody actually tried this! There's also a mention of the new bending feature.

On my iPhone 5, I have a nice light plastic case. having such on an iPhone 6 would easily prevent bending and it would not make that phone noticeably bigger or heavier.

I have a Diztronic TPU case for my iPhone 5. It is quite thin but has protected the phone very well. Recommended.

I think they make them for other popular phones.
