To make this more concrete, say you buy a $100 gift card for someone and they forget about it for three years. They then take it to the store to use it and - oh, too bad! It expired last year, or maybe it's only worth $76 now because of a $2/month service fee. The government rejected that argument and outlawed those practices as a consumer protection measure - saying that since you took their money, you have to honor the gift card you sold them. Now, that $100 gift card is always worth $100, until either you use it or the company folds and there's nobody to honor it. Now, if that's not what you were talking about, that's fine. I just tend to get a little twitchy these days when I hear complaints about Big Mean Government imposing evil rules, especially to regulate Job-Creating Corporations. Most of the time I hear that kind of talk, a little digging reveals that the rules are nowhere near as horrible as they've been made out to be, and may even help ordinary people. That was certainly the case in this instance. |

Okay, I'm not averse to groveling (that sounds better than "begging," doesn't it?) shamelessly when there is something that I want . . . .
Does anyone have a high-value code (say 55% or up) that they would be willing to share, pretty please? I'm not greedy--I just want one little-bitty high-value code. If you can help me, please PM me. If I get more than one code, I'll refuse the other ones so that other people may have them. Thank you, my good friends. ![]() Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 09-24-2014 at 09:26 PM. |

am i right in thinking that a uk comp code will not work in canada or hk or anywhere else for that matter?
I cant get a code to work on Murakami's latest as the uk is not allowing codes to be used on it. If i get a high code anyone want to trade a uk one for a Canadian one? #struggle tried and failed to use one of my codes in Canada on said book. Last edited by peterwardgd; 09-25-2014 at 07:00 AM. |

All but two of mine have been 20%. And, since I've gotten two "Come Back" 25% codes in my email, I didn't think they were worth posting.
I did get one 35% and one 30% code, but I used them myself. Anyway, one more to go! |

I played a few rounds just for the heck of it and well, let's just say my luck is as crap as ever lol. 45% and above seems to be awfully hard to get, at least for me. Since the books I want are not promo-eligible, here are the codes for anyone who has some use for them!
