B&N removed download option on all books in "My Nook" library

Maybe...I always use the desktop version of the browesr, and I definitely got offered the setup file for Kindle for PC, not the Windows store or the windows8 app.

The latest Kindle for PC can be found at https://www.amazon.com/kindlepcdownload/ref=klp_win. I found it easily at Amazon.com.

Win 7 using Firefox or IE it just sends me to the same damn page I put my email at again. This is the same crap they did to me with the instant video app.

Do you have the "Download from Windows Store" button? I got the setup file by clicking on that.

I have no idea what the 2nd one was, so I hope I downloaded it some other time or it was a freebie.)

I have not had these problems with Kindle for PC

I see that, but I thought the Windows store was just Win 8. Also, Amazon.com has "To receive a download link enter email or phone number ". I thought it would have sent me a direct link if I do that. I guess I'm just not that bright today.

Oh, I agree, that page sucks. But, the download link is available on it, at least for me, if I click on the "Download from Windows Store" button. Apparently that doesn't work for everyone, but it does for me whether I use Windows 8, 8.1, or xp. I don't have a Windows 7 computer here, but I'll check it on my son's when he gets home to see if it works on that, too.

I don't know, I guess it depends on what they are looking for. The platform token is set by the OS, but they could just be checking for the actual browser identity itself, and only sending you to the Win8 app if you use IE metro or something which doesn't seem to be very definitive...

Except people seem to be getting it on Firefox as well...

I have not had these problems with Kindle for PC

Amazon CS said the file was fine. He had no problems downloading it to his 'puter. Nor were there any other reports considering the many thousands who downloaded it. It was a Bookbub special.

All he was able to determine was someone removed the title from my library.

I'm having trouble figuring out your point. I thought I was clear that I don't want Nook for PC or Kindle for PC. What I want is to be able to download my books from Barnes & Noble. I used to be able to do that in my Nook account by clicking a download button. I can't do that now (without the Greasemonkey workaround), that's the issue. Additionally, I can't download books directly from my Nook BUT I can download books directly from my Kindle(s). So definitely different. I guess it's also possible to download Kindle books directly from my Kindle account -- though I've never used that feature, since I can directly download from the Kindle(s).
