I'm recovering and can start to read again, I think, but I can't look at a computer screen for long. Thank goodness for eink. Not being able to read has been a huge deprivation. I know I'm not alone here in feeling that I can get along so long as my eyes and wits hold out; losing either is my great fear for a tolerable old age. So, all told, I was lucky. I caught it early and was treated quickly and expect to be fine. Thank you all again for the good wishes and warmhearted comments! |

So glad to hear you are feeling better, issybird.
Not being able to read would be a terrible thing. I was traveling last weekend, and unfortunately I left my reading glasses at home, so I was not able to read anything for four days. I wouldn't want to contemplate a future where I wouldn't be able to read indefinitely. I also greatly missed your incisive comments. I always look forward to your observations. |

That's wonderful news issybird. You must be feeling very relieved that you caught it early and all is going to be well.

I just returned from a week of isolated vacation in a secluded part of Virginia. I didn't bring my phone or computer so I'm just checking in now and this is the first discussion I've reviewed.
Really sorry to hear of your problems reading Issybird. You're such a key participant in these clubs and your passion for reading is so evident with every post. I hope you make a complete recovery asap! |
