Well, I borked it. And the reset button doesn't seem to be helping.

I hadn't gotten to trying the 3rd-party apps, but I did load a lot of different ebook formats so i could test them. The Aura H2O didn't like that.

I think it may have been the 650MB PDF, but I'm not sure.

It's hung? Or has it recovered? If you need to do a factory reset and can't get to the menu, the steps are:

- Hold the power button down for 20 seconds to make sure it is off
- Turn it on.
- Tap both bottom corners of the screen at the same time. Do it a few times until something happens.

I'm not sure of the exact timing for this. You might need to try a few times to get it right.

These are also the steps for a Mini.

If you can still "logout" of your account and rebuild the Database, that should fix any media caused "borking".

I also would like to see if the H2o will work with Koreader and Coolreader, installing this way should not effect the stock programming (in fact it uses the stock program to launch the added programs, (just like selecting a book).

Thanks for the review. My comments on it...

I'm not sure what the first gallery is supposed to show? Why not have the same book shown on both readers at the same time? Also it looks like the light is on, which would bring in the variable of adjusting the brightness to comparable levels, which would mess with comparing the actual improvements from Carta.

Also, you talk about the lowest brightness setting. While many people may use the lowest, I'll guess that many do not (I think I use around 20%). It seems like a poor design if the lowest light setting is the best, as there should be more choices on the low end, instead of having to settle for 1. Seems counter intuitive to me.

In the first set of gallery pics, is that a light leak in the top left corner? It looks like a bright spot where the screen meets the bezel?

The device can display a image that is encoded in color, but as the screen is black and white that is how it appears on the device. If the image the screen is displaying is color (but displayed in black and white) then the screen capture will include the color data and can appear in color on a color display.

The fact the Aura H2O will only accept its own USB cord is enough to dissuade me from wanting one, at this time. I'll stick with the Aura HD, for now.
