Onyx Boox M96

Hi,

I was wondering if any of you had problems with the e-reader store? I bought an M92 from them last year and around a month or more ago the screen malfunctioned. They took ages to repair it and then sent it to the wrong address (in a different country, I moved house. I'd informed them off the change and they even managed to write my new address on the box but then sent it via DHL to the old address). I've been asking to get my e-reader back, it's currently sitting with family, and e-reader store offered me a measly 12 euro to help with postage (I can't find anything cheaper than 50 online). Not only that they took more than a week to reply. I think it's their mistake and that they should fix it, but to be honest it seems like they don't care at all.

I know other people have had good experiences with them, so I was surprised at how unprofessional and then unapologetic they were.

Any thoughts?

I am surprised with your problem. I am using Neo Reader and scribble a lot on pdf files. But none of them disappears after I turned off M96. May be reboot or re-update helps.

I have just bought Onyx M96 Universe and I'm quite impressed with the features, which it offers. But I wonder if this cover - https://onyx-boox.com/shop/magnetique-cover-for-m92/, which is advertised as compatible with M92 and M96, is really compatible with M96. M96 seems to be a bit too thick (photo included - http://pl.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=33f99wl&s=8). What do you think? Will this cover adjust to the shape of M96?

M92 and M96 are the exact same size. The only difference is the OS running.

That is the cover I use for my M96.

Just like the page says - it does fit with M92 and M96 Universe :-)

I and at least one more person had similar problem with highlights and annotations in M96M despite that both of us installed latest official firmware. Support advised to install the same firmware using MfgTool2. I didn't quite manage to do so, but did wipe data and cache. My attempt to push the firmware to reader with MfgTool2 stopped at "Jumping to OS image" stage. Strangely enough annotations and highlights are now saved.

I'm a student worker and I planned to buy an onyx M96 to avoid to print thousands of pages and studying directly with this ebook reader.
I used to highlight the key words with 2 different colors, it my way of studying.

Questions:
1) How does highlighting function work? is it easy,quick and immediate?

2) is it possible to highlight with 2 different shades of gray?

What is the recommended place to buy the M96 from in Canada?

I know that booxstor ships to Canada but they use UPS and I'd rather avoid them since they overcharge on clearing customs.

Highlighting in PDFs. Neo Reader :
You can highlight text in PDF very easily, when those PDFs are created correctly (not just scanned documents as pictures). Highlighted text can be set and handled as annotations and can be commented by user. Both (citations and comments) can be exported in a text file. You can also navigate very conveniently to your highlightings using a kind of TOC function (table with short annotations and page numbers). Just click the row with your annotations (highlighted text) you are looking for..
You can use scribble function to underline, strike or just some draftings in PDF documents. Scribbles can be merged in a new PDF. During export you can select color of scribbles)

or highlight function provides only one color?

Hi all.

I recently ordered a M96 Universe from Arta Tech (via amazon).

I have 2 questions and would be glad if you could answer them:

1) Will I be able to install the firmware updates from Booxtor (like the ones given on this forum) ? Or I can only use Arta tech software ?

2) Do you know is scribbling of .pdf and their exports supported by official Arta Tech software ?
