You're all lovely; I'm deeply touched. I love this club. Thank you very much.

I'm recovering and can start to read again, I think, but I can't look at a computer screen for long. Thank goodness for eink. Not being able to read has been a huge deprivation.

I know I'm not alone here in feeling that I can get along so long as my eyes and wits hold out; losing either is my great fear for a tolerable old age. So, all told, I was lucky. I caught it early and was treated quickly and expect to be fine.

Thank you all again for the good wishes and warmhearted comments!

So glad to hear you are feeling better, issybird.

Not being able to read would be a terrible thing. I was traveling last weekend, and unfortunately I left my reading glasses at home, so I was not able to read anything for four days. I wouldn't want to contemplate a future where I wouldn't be able to read indefinitely.

I also greatly missed your incisive comments. I always look forward to your observations.

That's wonderful news issybird. You must be feeling very relieved that you caught it early and all is going to be well.

I just returned from a week of isolated vacation in a secluded part of Virginia. I didn't bring my phone or computer so I'm just checking in now and this is the first discussion I've reviewed.

Really sorry to hear of your problems reading Issybird. You're such a key participant in these clubs and your passion for reading is so evident with every post. I hope you make a complete recovery asap!

Everyone's been so generous with their kind comments and wishes. I'm humbled and grateful and value you all highly. I'm so very glad we've come together at this congenial corner of the internet.

After a time one has the feeling to know people in the bookclub and that's nice.
I do hope your eyes will be as good as before they gave you trouble. Keep strong and best wishes.

That is such wonderful news! It is marvellous that you can contribute again. Yes, the e-ink screen is so much more comfortable to read.
