That's interesting. I have seen a little scroll indicator on the right, but I can't seem to do anything to interact with it directly. How do I do that?

Is there some way to get it to show where you are in the list? Because that's the part I think is the most useful.

On my devices, as long as there are some 3 times the number of items in the list then are showing, I put my finger on it and slide up and down. The list slides along with my finger, showing me exactly where I am.

A few things:

1) Wow, I can't believe I never noticed that. That's very handy.

2) Is there some reason not to enable it for any list larger than the screen? It seem somewhat arbitrary that I have to know how many items on my list before I try to grab it.

3) There seems to be an issue. I am on a list of 27 items. I have 6 on the screen at a time (maybe 6 and a half) and it won't let me grab it.

4) Yes, I think it would be great to be able to do this in the grouping drawer as well.

5) It would be nice to have an option for lefties so that the scroll bar would appear on the left hand side. Since it disappears when you stop, I think it is ok if it overlaps the covers while you are moving.

6) By the same logic, is there a strong reason not to enable it in cover view?

7) While I think that having an idea where you are on the list would still be nice, this is close enough that I don't think its worth your effort to implement my idea. Now, if you are bored one day with nothing to do....

On my galaxy note, it needs to be a fairly long list of books. Then start scrolling and the scroll bar will slide out from the right. Then you can put your thumb on it and continue scrolling. If you don't have enough books, it shows a thin bar that you can't grab.

I would think my list of 885 books would be enough.

I'm not complaining about it though. I always have problems with scrolls bars moving stuff when I don't want them to, so I'm better off without. I was just curious because scroll bars always get in my way.

I would like companion to have the ability to set device connection ip by the wifi router the device is connected to. I have to specify the address for my office pc so need to change again when home.

It works on my Nexus 7 2012. With 184 books on the list I get what you see in the screen capture.

I played around with this a bit more, and it seems that I was coincidentally on the magic number.

27 books will not let you grad the scroll bar, but 28 will.

I have 6.5 books on the display, so perhaps the magic number is 4 times the display, rather than three. Is there any reason not to make it lower? Its not like it does any hard to show it for smaller lists.

I don't get to choose. Android does. It seems to turn it on with 4 pages.

Got it. I thought it was something you had done.

Is it possible to have an option to move it to the left?

Is it possible to do the same thing in the grouping drawer?

Not my decision. (already said above)

Not sure I can because of interactions with the sliding pane, but I will check.

Apparently I can do that.

Will run right into the "ugly" complaint, leading to yet another option.
