Problem was being outside her normal areas. And given that she was in Carson City all week which is high desert, then the two day drive back, it was simply not paying attention. She's back now, and getting topped up on fluids, and things seem to be improving. We'll see if there was anything on the CAT, but I don't expect it.
Giant mug of Peet's Major Dickason's Blend coffee. |

![]() With out the taste of water... cool, water. Ole Dan and I, with throats burned dry, and souls that cry for water... cool, clear water. The shadows sway and seem to say Tonight we pray for water.... cool, clear water And way up there He'll hear our prayer and show us where there's water... cool, clear water. Keep a-movin' Dan. Don't you listen to him Dan. He's the devil, not a man. He spreads the burnin' sand with water. Say Dan can't you see that big green tree, where the water's runnin' free. It's waiting there for you and me and water.... cool, clear water. ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jj7qab6KC4 ) Good morning, everyone! It's amazing just how little thought we often give to the stuff... It's everywhere, it's 'us,' we live in it and it lives in us, and yet we so often forget about it. Glad to hear that she's feeling better. Living in the tropics, we have to remember to force fluids too. The Thai sun can dry you out so quickly, and it's simply amazing how rejuvinating a bottle of water can be when walking around during the afternoon. It's like a shot of pure 'energy' that can make or break the day! 'course, what would tea be without the stuff? I'm drinking unbranded Keemun tea this morning, hoping it will suffice to ease the aches of last night's impromptu fencing gathering. So far, so good! I've got two days to recover before our regular Saturday bouts. I don't remember it taking so long when I was twenty five... Stitchawl |

Finishing up a mug of Peet's Major Dickason's Blend coffee. On to Phoenix Mountain Oolong. And already lusting after the new Kindle Voyage.

In colour, it's a fairly dark whisky, looking like strong tea. It says that it is made by blending a younger peaty malt with an older non-peaty one and you can smell the peat when you open it, but it's certainly not as strongly peated as a Talisker or a Laphroig. Taste-wise, again, you do get the peat, but it's more of an undertone than the dominating taste. I think that I get a slightly salty, nutty, rich taste. Certainly none of the honey sweetness you get in the lighter malts. I quite like it as an everyday drink. It's not got the same "in your face" peatiness as a Talisker, but it's peaty enough to be interesting and I like the other flavours in there. Relatively affordable too, over here at least. |

Interesting. I no longer think of Talisker as heavily peated, but find it at "just the right amount" of peatiness. Lagavulin or Laphroaig, however, are heavily enough peated that I save them for late night sipping. Too much for earlier in the evening. Though I suspect that if I could afford to drink Lagavulin more, I'd shift my palate to match.
![]() This morning, after my usual fresh squeezed OJ, a big mug of Peet's Major Dickason's coffee. (Think of it as the Talisker of coffee - strong, dark, but perfectly balanced.) And brewing for after, a pot of my very own Russian Caravan - a blend of English Breakfast and Lapsang Souchong. Perfect for the rainy day we have. |

![]() Love was changing the minds of pretenders While chasing the clouds away Our hearts were ringing In the key that our souls were singing. As we danced in the night, Remember how the stars stole the night away Ba de ya, say do you remember Ba de ya, dancing in September Ba de ya, never was a cloudy day ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs069dndIYk ) Good morning, everyone! It's Saturday again. I see a pattern forming... Getting ready for a day at the fencing club. I played Wednesday evening too, and my uniform is still hanging on the line, but it's dry. I was just too lazy to take it in. I think I may have convinced one of our epee fencers to give foil a try... Foil is more difficult as you need to get closer to your opponent and there is a much smaller target area. It tends to be a lot more energetic too. It will be fun seeing how he makes the transition... I'm starting today with PG Tips tea. Not a first choice, but I'm out of pre-filled 'better' tea bags. Looks like that will be a Sunday afternoon chore... getting all the different teas into lazy-guy bags. I don't mind chores like that, when the results of them taste so nice! ![]() Stitchawl |

Ahhh. I was poking around in the tea cabinet and uncovered the tin of Keemun Xian Zhen, from Teaspring.com. I haven't had any in a while, and had forgotten just how very, very good it is. With a fresh blueberry scone from the Dragon Fire Bakery at the Farmers Market. This tea is sinfully good, but really more expensive than I can afford.
