Is that date in October for the US only, or does it include other countries like Australia etc?
Waiting for that (already high) price to be marked-up hugely once it's here, we're always ripped-off when it comes to CE, sw etc. |

I will probably weaken too, but first I want to work out it's weight in a cover with against the Kobo Aura I have. I would also love the new Kobo Aura H20 but in the cold light of day I have to weigh up the customer support and reliability of the Amazon readers against the freedom of having a Kobo ereader which I can customise more but practically has no support from Kobo or the UK retailer I end up buying it from. I also love whispersync as I also read on my phone and tablets. I buy my books DRM free from publishers so the make of ereader is not an issue for me.
It's funny, last night I was reading on the sofa holding my kindle in my left hand only, propped up on the sofa arm, and having to extend my left finger into the middle if the screen to page forward. I realised then how simple the side pressure points of the Voyage would be. |

I knew I would
![]() It doesn't help that overnight I had an email from WHSmith saying they have no idea when they might get the Kobo Aura H20 ![]() I'll have two PW1's and a Kobo Aura I can sell so that might help a bit. |

At the end of the day kindles are known for their reliability and Amazon for their customer service, plus whispersync and send to kindle are important to me. I don't buy my books from them but they still make it easy to read my books on their devices. No one has an Eco system like Amazon.

I thnk the on-off button should not have been placed at the back. It complicates cover design, and covers with a hole in them don't look very good IMHO.
Also, the software improvements are not worth it; I'm of the opinion that they're useless frills, such as more GoodReads, WordWise, etc... The most important improvement, such as font customization was not added. I'd only buy the new Kindle for the hardware improvements. To be honest, at this point in time, there is no reader on the market that I really like. Most of them have either software issues (Kobo, with its space wasting layout), or hardware issues (readers I like, but without front lights, for example). I use the Kindle Paperwhite because it does its job and basically is the least bad of the bunch... By the way, I think the KPW2 will be sold for at least another year, and the Voyage (of which I think it should have been called Voyager, instead) will just be positioned above it as more expensive alternative, just like Kobo does, selling all e-readers they've released in the last three years or so. |

I actually don't mind it protruding a fraction as I don't really like having the case front directly on top of the screen. With the current case for the Paperwhite (which I love) this is achieved by the bezel being above the PWs screen.

Well they finally reintroduced the 2 things I was missing the most from the K3: the page turn buttons and larger memory, and I also like the flush bezel (no more constantly removing stuck cat hairs!) but at £169 for the wifi model it no longer quite fits in the impulse buy category, and with the smaller size, it means getting a new cover too - all that would buy me quite a few books instead of a new device to read on

As much as I love my Aura it's quite telling that I wouldn't trust my Aura on holiday as I don't trust the device not to freeze up on me. If I could only have one ereader it has to be a kindle. Last edited by Josieb1; 09-19-2014 at 04:37 AM. |
