Since I already purchased the Voyage, I placed my order description under Kindles here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=246575 I'm hooked on Amazon. |

I assumed it would be done via account settings. It seems silly to do it any other way.

I'm not thrilled about the price, but thinner, lighter and with a higher DPI appeals to me, so I pre-ordered. Delivery date is out to 10/29 already, even with Prime, so they must be doing pretty well on pre-orders.

I was under the impression that you downloaded the .acsm and it verified it on the device, the same as any other .acsm -- are you saying you could browse OverDrive libraries without resorting to the web browser? Which Kindles ALSO have? Because if it's just the browser, I can browse OverDrive on my Kindle Touch too, and redeem books on Amazon with the greatest of ease -- besides the part where the browser is slow, and only with one of the hacked ones can I open the Amazon lend redemption in a new tab, and have half-decent bookmark accessibility. I thought we were speaking about something a little more useful, like having it baked in with a native UI the way the Kindle Store is. Last edited by eschwartz; 09-18-2014 at 07:40 PM. |

I ordered last night and expected delivery is 10/21. Was there an earlier delivery date than that?

I held out for almost 24 hours before placing my order. I think it was the sticker shock that held me up. In the end, the increased screen resolution and the page press options carried the decision. I ordered the 3g with special offers. (Now that I am used to the special offers I kind of like them) In the past, I have automatically upgraded to the new model for both the Kindle and Kobo. But with the high end readers for both companies at or above $200, I am going to have to re-think my upgrade policy and possibly go to an every-other-year plan. This hobby is getting expensive. My delivery date is Oct. 21, can't wait. |

Will the kindle paperwhite get new features from the new Kindle and Kindle Voyage like word wise...? Actually I don't see any huge improvements in Kindle Voyage except 300 ppi, because the screen in Kindle Paperwhite next gen is e-ink carta already. As I saw in the video, the texts look very crisp but the color looks gray, not black . I don't think I will upgrade. Last edited by duydangle; 09-19-2014 at 01:05 AM. |
