Amazon Announces New Fire Tablets
Amazon has updated their lineup of Fire Tablets. They have added a 6" version, kid versions (6" or 7").

Fire - Kid version "Enjoy the peace of mind with an unprecedented 2-year worry-free guarantee—if they break it, we'll replace it for free. No questions asked"

6" Fire starts at $99, comes in 8GB or 16GB in a choice of 5 colors.

I just listed my 2013 Fire HD 7 16gb (3rd gen, they say now) for sale on Amazon. I would rather have the new 6" Fire, which has better resolution!

Interesting thought process at work there: instead of doing a Phablet Kindle, they went with a Phablet-sized tablet and priced it dirt cheap.

Should be interesting to see how well it sells.

I might get the 8gb it's cheap enough, mainly use it as an ereader, and the times I'd be watching video, or listening to music it would be streaming from plex or from their cloud, it's not a bad little plex device for the money.

8 gb would be fine for using as a reader and streaming. We have some amazon-only apps that my kids like, and they at times go berserk downloading free apps, so I have to get the 16 gb. If I decide I need one for myself, I would probably get the 8gb.
