Sorry about your loss... I lost my PW1 at a hotel this year. Still wondering what to buy to replace it. The new $199 "voyage" looks tempting, but so does the $79 unit with touchscreen (what model is that?)... I have not kept up with recent versions. |

I'm guessing the PW2 Geekmaster. That said, it might be worth returning it and waiting for the Voyager? |

Meh, waiting to see what that thing runs on before making any rash decision re: returning the PW2 . |

Well, other than Amazon really digging in their heels in this war over end-user modifications. Lab126 crew has **almost** found out how to lock down an embedded Linux device. The "new models" is just the annual October churn before the Holiday Marketing Season. Nothing much is known about them (yet) - stay tuned over the next month or so. | |

@HarryT: Enough to screw us over? Definitely . But for random joe, it appears to still be based on the PaperWhite FW branch, so, yeah, no ground-breaking changes. |

Sorry to hear this NiLuJe! I agree Voyage isn't really appealing to me either, both feature wise and price wise. And the back plate doesn't look good in my eyes at all! Not to mention that having audio capabilities is a must for me - hence holding on to my Kindle Touch. I wish I could SOMEHOW make use of Amazon eco-system on a Kobo hardware, like delivering ebooks, 3G, Amazon cloud drive etc. Last edited by thatworkshop; 09-22-2014 at 04:44 PM. |
