Highlights not Saving

I've been offline for a bit recently, but am now back to editing my Calibre/Marvin supported ebook library. I am rather OCD re: errors in my books.

I've been checking my ebook copy of one book which I have in print. This one seems fine.

However, when I started to check another ebook, the highlights don't seem to be holding properly. When/if I exit the book, for whatever reason, when I open it again, the last few highlights may OR MAY NOT be there.

Also, is there a way to sort the highlights into a list according to their position in the book? If I find an error after I have already gone on, it appears out of order in the highlights list.

Any help would be appreciated, as I don't relish being forced to do all my edits at my desktop keyboard, rather than just doing the updates.

I don't think I've had such a good laugh in months. Is that the fabled new "predicting keyboard" in iOS 8?

If I ever upgrade to iOS 8 (which I don't feel like doing), I'll be installing the SwiftKey keyboard instantly. It works great on Android. I dare say it won't be slipping marzipan in our forum posts, although you can never be sure.

On-topic: I find that the disappearing highlights mainly occur if they are highlights across paragraph boundaries. This is a long-standing Marvin/WebKit issue. For this reason, I try to avoid highlights crossing paragraph boundaries. I may, instead, highlight two successive paragraphs as two separate highlights. That's a lame workaround, but at least such highlights tend not to disappear.

The issues with the highlights i.e., not being able to delete a highlight or highlights appearing out of order in the list, is the reason I've stopped using the app. I admit that I'm OCD about this but it really bugs me. A fix would be very much appreciated because I really enjoy the app otherwise.

I asked in another posting, for another similar program to Marvin, that I could use for my editing until Marvin is working again. I decided to use iBooks, since it's free, and works kinda like Marvin (not nearly do well though).
I've been simultaneously keeping up the edit highlights on Marvin, to check if they stay saved or not. I am sad to say, not. I was updating them this morning, and the tally didn't match. When I checked, several of the BLUE (italics-no notes) highlights have gone missing again.
I will continue to update the Marvin copy, in hopes of pinning down when/where the error is happening, and update here as I can.
I hope to help fix this, so I can quit using iBooks. It is sooo slow to react to any action.
