I would like to see screens compared without room light so we could see how even front light is and any dark areas. In the demo, screen would look whiter if front light was set at higher intensity. Only way to really judge is have reader in hand.

It's also worth considering that these video reviews are generally done indoors, and I noticed when taking photos of my various ereaders, the difference between screens is most notable when they are viewed in natural daylight.

Yes. That's why I try to take photos next to a window. Natural sunlight offers a different tone than incandescent lights.

If they had done that then they would know that the content looks the same at the smallest and largest font sizes, but the Aura HD has an extra line of text at a few of the intermediate sizes (possibly due to the Aura HD having a screen which is ten pixels taller). I attached one example. |

I'm skipping this one. Not enough changes for me do ditch my Aura HD.

Well, most of us have two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, two hands, two arms, two legs, two eyebrows, two cheeks, [again] two cheeks, and two [I'd better stop there] --- well......Ok, Ok: Anyway, that's my logic for getting one. ![]() Also, I'm of an age where the 'double-mint' chewing gum commercial is ingrained in my brain. ![]() ![]() |

Yes, and then one of your eyes will look at that dark dark screen of the HD, your two brain hemispheres will get a headache from the dissonance and your two hands will grab your two wallets and buy another H2O while your two wives will complain, each into one of your two ears...

Not yet....but it's very tempting...........I'm on the fence right now. The Kobo Aura HD is, without a doubt, my number one reader of choice. If I buy the H2O, then I'll want to sell my HD. Too, I'll probably be going to the U.S. this Christmas to visit family, and it'll be so much easier to buy it when I go there. Argggghghghggh!!!! ![]() ![]() |

I might have missed this, but I think it hasn't been covered: do we know whether the new Aura H2O has an internal SD card, like the Aura HD, or whether it has gone the way of the 6" Aura?

There is an external slot (it's under the waterproof cap). I don't know if there is a second internal card slot like you might find on some of Kobo's other devices.

That is reason I'm waiting to see tear down of H2O. I want to see if it has removable internal uSD card and how water proofing affects opening the new reader. I tear down all of my electronic and mechanical devices sometimes only before recycling, or repair. This started with, maintaining, repairing and modifying bicycles when 4 or 5 years old then later electrical and electronics.

I was wondering will Kobo Aura H2O be more durable than it's predecessor (Waterproof and Dust-proof I know)? After my Kobo Mini broke by a slight knock on the table, I am just uber skeptical about Kobo readers. I didn't buy any more ereaders till now; H2O shows promise.
