Maybe things are too slow. I'll try to fix that
![]() I installed 688 on my Aura HD and whenever I left a book it went back to the start menu. It also went back to the start menu if I tried to open books from the history menu. If I opened the same book from file manager it all worked ok. I'm back on 675 for now. I was really looking forward to the OPDS integration. Thanks for everything you've done so far. Jim |

I am running 707 and it has most of the new features. It seems to be slightly faster in my 14361 page book, but it is still not as fast as I remember it once was. It also shows the number of "items" in each folder of the File Manager listing of folders. The OPDS features look interesting, and includes one for Local calibre and an option to add new ones.

I use release version where most recent is 675 on 3.8.0 My books are on SD, as I wrote earlier. Now starting koreader is a sure way to make errors in kobo database. I start it with fmon. As I mentioned at exit SD card no longer seen, but even if seen (with adding an udev commaned) books are recognised as DRM protected (they are not in reality). They disappear from last opened books, and in better case there are some indexing errors, in worse case there are other errors in database. Logically I think error is caused by the missing SD card, so my question is, does it cause any problem if I change koreader.sh at the end, removing the if... -s and leave only "reboot" behind reader.lua? (I know it will take more or less double time to get back to nickel, but if it works, it worths.)

The issue of why the Kobo software cannot deal with files that are read by other readers, the issue of their easily corrupted database, is not something to blame Koreader for. Or to expect some change in the Koreader code or functioning to fix the way Kobo functions. Luck; Ken Last edited by Ken Maltby; 09-10-2014 at 09:09 PM. |

You just need to be careful if you use your Koreader library from the SD card, in that case the download most likely will fail until you set the download directory to something NOT on your SD card. |

![]() (I don't want any change in KOReader, I want to change it for myself. Or uninstall fmon and switch to start menu or advboot). First I try reallocating library in the weekend, and make a hidden one on the SD. Last edited by Ebri; 09-11-2014 at 02:58 AM. |

I'm still using FM and I recently replaced my SD card, Nickel was straining a lot to enter all the books into into its database, so now I've followed your recommendation, attached the SD card directly to the PC and renamed all the folders by adding a dot ".foldername". (No need to rename subfolders. Don't forget to activate "show hidden files" in the general koreader settings!) Seems to work fine now, though every time I exit from a book, koreader shuts down too. Using FW 3.8.0, built 2014.04-709
edit: that's it, new file manager button left of home button does the job Last edited by serdar0020; 09-11-2014 at 01:49 PM. |

serdar, I guess you simply click on the wrong exit button.
Check Ken's post #1641, the behaviour of the "home" button did change! |

Right, I do kinda remember doing that.
Ouch... I forgot that I have some unhidden folders on my external uSD, from testing WS64's search function. Darn I will end up having to fix that. I was able to add the new wifi network and delete the old one, in Nickel. It is all working now. The OPDS did not work at first, and did not ask if I wanted to start WiFi. Once I went to the OTA and answered OK, to start WiFi, the OPDS is working. (The OTA check never returned anything, but that is probably because I already have the latest version from the OTA site.) Perhaps the OPDS function should add the "Turn on WiFi" message, as well. Luck; Ken |
