Okay I see they have a feature with T-Mobile, my current carrier, wherein a weak cellular signal can transfer to your home WiFi for voice over LTE. That might get me to update as I will be moving away from the big city to a rural area in SE Texas. I looked up the T-Mobile coverage in the area and it shows 2G only, so I might have cellular issues in the house. Heck I had cellular issues in my current home in the Dallas area due to the suckiness that is AT&T. But that cleared up when I switched to T-Mobile 1.5 years ago. I don't want to get a landline, so this voice over LTE (VoLTE) seems like a possibility.

I'm with js on this one. Apple is abnormally obsessed with thinness. Time for them to see a shrink. When I had an iPod touch, it went into an OtterBox case just to bulk it up.

It is just done on purpose like that - this way it opens the market up for a whole new series of cases. I don't believe anyone seriously uses a phone naked. Even with an Otterbox Defender it is still nice and slim.

I might have to play with these in person before deciding if I want one. Who am I kidding? I want one, but I don't know which size.

The watch was pretty cool. I'm not sure whether it falls into the category of "neat, but not indispensable" or "this will change my life" as the iPhone did. Some of the configurations are undoubtedly attractive.

What's interesting to me is that the watch depends on the phone: it's an extension of everything the phone already does. Aside from the sensors (which were pretty basic), I'm not sure I see the argument that it's an entirely new category of device, but then again I hardly see the difference between the iPad and the iPhone, so I'm probably the wrong person to ask.

A long time ago, I started carrying a pocket watch because I worked in factories where wrist watches were not allowed for safety reasons. Then when I started carrying a PDA and later a cell phone, I just used that to get the time and discarded the pocket watch.

If the Apple Watch (correction) can't stand on its own, then I think it will fail the usefulness test thought some will look on it as a fashion statement or "groupie tech" statement.

I have one kid that might buy one because he likes to buy new stuff.

Check the size of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ in your browser.

I can see myself using the 6. The 6+ seems... enormous.

I think it's a pretty unreasonable judgment. The watch is configurable in lots of different ways, many of which are attractive. It might not be to your taste (watches are, traditionally, very personal objects—more so than computers), but it nevertheless has an aesthetic which isn't without elegance. The fact that it can be dressed up to wear with a suit while also being appropriate for wearing to the gym just by switching out the band is impressive. And the whole, "I can't believe apple would release that" line is just an eye-roller.

Check out the gallery and the real life photos in the three different design pages (sport, watch, edition). Some of those look great, frankly.

I got to the second paragraph before reading this:

"Samsung opted for the same 1080p (Full HD) screen that it packed into its Galaxy S4, helping to conserve battery life. According to the Apple website, the 6+ has a resolution of "1920-by-1080-pixel resolution at 401 ppi." The iPhone 6 has a "1334-by-750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi." As far as I can tell, the dimensions and resolution cited by your article were simply made up.

I didn't bother reading the rest but it's probably full of the same kinds of errors. Please post reliable sources only, thanks.

They probably also made a mistake by the lack of dust / water proofing of the 6s?

Yeah, completely unreliable. Haters will be haters. Not so easy when the iphone is not obviously the best any more in smart phones by a big margin.

Agreed - ugly as sin, and looks very thick as well.

With that bulge at the back, I don't see how it can sit comfortably on your wrist.
