I choose the new Kobo H2O. When do I get it? Since I don't have a Kobo, I don't even know if 3.8 firmware is a real thing for any device. I'm guessing not.

Except for a brief period after Agency ended former Agency titles have never been couponable. They are discountable in that Kobo sometimes (rarely) discounts them at a percentage off list price, but they aren't couponable.

I thought they were couponable before agency started?

Of course they were (everything in the store was), but they weren't former Agency titles back then.

Well, my tuppence worth is that this next Contest will again have Codes that can only be used within the competing countries. And in fact that that's how it will be from now on. That is: UK CA & US

That's what's happened in Japan (as we have been told).

I think you're right. We more than likely are now at the mercy of Kobo making mistakes with the codes to get any real bargains.

If we are now dependent upon Kobo making mistakes, I am optimistic.

As far as I am concerned, what Kobo lacks in customer service and general ebook selling competency it makes up for by being the only fun ebook store on the planet. As least as long as the Kobo coupon contests and this thread exist.

Yep. Their website is a big ole mess but I'll put up with it for as long as I can keep spending as little as I do on books. Frankly I'd put up with worse!

I just came across this browser add-in: https://hola.org/ It tricks servers into thinking you're located in another country. I just used it successfully to watch old Jon Stewart shows that are only available to people living in the US (and other places presumably) ... I'm in Singapore an couldn't access it previously.

I'm not sure this add-in will help in applying coupons from other countries, but it's worth a try. [I also don't know how it works and the implications for security, i.e., using your credit card while it's working].

Thanks Docno for the info.

It's not a problem changing countries in Kobo, it's just that the Contest codes have been restricted to countries where there are publisher restrictions so not many of the books I want are able to be discounted.

It worked very well when I could use them in India.
