The two biggest problems I found with webpages and third party apps are lack of pinch-zoom and the color-grayscale conversion.
Re the latter, I’m wondering whether a color mod app from Google Play would help. I no longer have my M96, but am still interested. Would someone be willing to try something like this and report back? From simple Google search: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...hainfire.lumen https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....GalacticNight https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...chainfire.cf3d |

Re pinch-zoom, has anyone tried double tap-hold-drag down, http://www.gthisgthat.com/one-finger-zoom-android/ ?

@NNN Thank you for coming out with solutions to m96 problems. I don't have my unit yet, so I can't test them, but I refloat the thread to se if anyone can do it. M96 discussions seem to be a little bit abandonded, maybe this device didn't raise the popularity of m92 and its not selling?
Anyway, if you no longer have this device but are still interested, It means that you wouldn't rebuy until promised features are released, or have you find a good replacement for m96 capabilities? |

If I haven't already bought something else, I might buy one from the next manufacturing run. (My unit’s speaker was either broken or missing, the headphone jack was mono, and the volume buttons were wired backward from the UI.)
I’m keeping an eye on Netronix/Kobo, and considering the Sony. I would wait if Onyx gave a timeline. I look forward to hearing of your experience. Last edited by NNN; 08-22-2014 at 02:48 AM. |

If I don't have my m96 yet is because I'm having a really hard time deciding between two completely diferent devices. This one and Galaxy Note 10.1 .
I know, is more expensive (less than 100 euro in some stores), and I would lost the eink display and the amazing battery life. But man....the spen is just perfect for a student, and the great display and performance give a lot of versatility to this model. Color screen, is damn fast managing documents... This is killing me xD....I'm waiting to se the m96 updates rate, goals and to-do list of the developers, and I will decide the next month when university starts. |

And the mono thing - you mean it was not stereo or you heard only 1 channel (e.g. left or right)? Because if that's the latter, then you could try smaller headphones (with earplugs). This device has not enough power to drive the bigger ones through input slot. That was my case. Strange, because my tiny old mp3 player could work with my huge headphones. |

Mine summed the stereo signal to mono, into the left ear only through stereo ear buds. |

CF.Lumen - Not compatible, even with the Market Helper. Galactic Night - Installs with Market Helper cloaking the M96 as an SGS3, however on running, it says its not compatible. Chainfire3d - App installed okay. Driver installed fine. Not sure whether its making a difference though, or is it just a placebo effect. ;-) Jp Last edited by japinder; 09-01-2014 at 11:49 AM. |

Could someone please see if MyScript Stylus (Beta) works?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ile.v3_2_store I've been reading academic pdfs on a rooted nook simple touch, with ezpdf. Yes, the screen is simply too small. I was about to give up and get a Samsung Note 10.1, when I heard about this. Bigger screen, and surely ezpdf must run as well on it as it does on my nook. (I get that the stylus works even better on the native pdf reader, but you can't export annotations, which means they must also be incompatible with adobe, okular, etc etc whereas ezpdf annotations can be shared with everything). If I can even write the comments using handwriting recogition, then this dominates the Note in every way I care about, I'll get it at once. Btw, booxtor people, if it isn't too late to design your pdf reader to use the same annotations system as adobe, ezpdf, okular, etc, etc, then please do do that. We many-pdf-annotators can't lock everything in a walled garden, we need to be able to share in an interoperable way with colleagues. |

I was successfully able to install 'Stylus Beta', & it is available as one of the input choices, however I'm not sure how to use it. ![]() I'm able to use 'OnyxScribbler' available in the 8th Aug version of the firmware & I believe it would work the same way, just not really sure how to use it. ![]() If you can give me a couple of nudges in that direction, I should be able to try it out for you. ![]() Thanks, Jp |

Japinder, basically it replaces the keyboard for entering text in the entry fields. It is like a mini scribble board at the bottom of the screen where the keyboard would appear and whatever you scribbles there is automatically converted to typed text and placed in the selected entry field. Very useful. I like it very much. Last edited by mmmrqs; 09-03-2014 at 10:25 AM. |

It did replace the keyboard on its own while I was tinkering with it. Actually I was trying to compare it with the OnyxScribbler, to scribble/add annotations in PDFs. ![]() I guess I was trying compare apples with oranges. ![]() Jp |

Awesome!!
![]() If anyone else is curious, here's a video of this app in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpkrcEHmcPA I've been using it on my phone -- just with my finger -- and it's better than any keyboard I've tried. But it's hard to believe, after all these years, I might actually get an eink reader big enough to read technical pdfs and with actually working annotation possibilities.... |

I confirmed that MyScript Stylus Beta does work with PDF annotations!! I made some successful tests using Foxit reader. I did not figure out how to enter annotations in the standard OnyxReader though, but the MyScript should work with any app since it actually replaces the keyboard entry.

Elizabeth_b, in ezpdf, did you manage to get landscape view, two pages across on your other device? I tried on my M96, without success. I can get landscape, but in two-pages-view, the pages are placed one above the other ![]() Maybe some other user has tried this on M96 as well? Any ideas? If this is possible somehow, the combination ezpdf & MyScript could be the ideal solution for academic pdfs. The native NeoReader is fine as well, but annotations seems to be more versatile with ezpdf. |
