On a Aura HD there is no power button to "PRESS". Hopefully just sliding would work...

It means the collections list is sorting properly. For the last few firmware versions, if a particular line was missing from the config file, the collections list was sorted in date created order rather than name. And for the Glo, Aura and Aura HD, the menu to change the sort order was missing.

The "Date added" sorting of a collection has not been fixed. Kobo definitely know it is broken.

Last night I changed the affiliate tag on both my Aura and the Aura HD so I could get the light swipe feature on the HD and everything seemed to go smoothly but I discovered what seems to be a bug when searching in the calibre-loaded ePub I had been already reading. I highlighted a word to check when something first appeared in the book and as the list of where the word appeared populated I noticed two things 1- it listed what chapter the word was in (good) but all appearances were listed as 'Chapter 1' (they weren't, so that's bad) and 2- rather than being in order of appearance as the list populated everything jumped positions and when it was done the first and I chose the first item on page one it was actually something like the 20th appearance of the word then the second one was the fifth appearance! Once I follow a link the forward and backward arrows lead to the correct next/previous entries.

I tried this on half a dozen books on both readers just to be sure it wasn't the book I had been reading but the same thing happened in each book. I tested with a kepub downloaded just to check this out and it works correctly there, the chapters where the searched word appear are correctly labelled and the list populates in chronological order.

Is anyone else seeing this problem? I tried a complete power down an restart but that didn't change anything. This is a real problem for me, I hope it gets addressed/fixed soon.

Hi MarciaCat,

Actually, I think I had never done a "search in book" so thank you for making me try it

My results on an Aura HD fw 3.8 were satisfactory on a Calibre loaded book.
  • all different chapter number
  • Right order
  • links going to the correct quotation

Hope you can find a solution... Is it possible that the table of content for this book isn't correct? (if you know how to open an ebook with Sigil, it might be worth checking).

One bug that I've now encountered three times since installing FW 3.8.0 on my Aura HD: if I have created a number of annotations while reading, then I bookmark where I am in the book, go to the various annotations, then back to the bookmarked page and try to remove the bookmark by touching the bookmark symbol in the upper right of the screen. At this point the reader freezes, and a few seconds later it reboots itself.

Tried this on a .kepub.epub synced from Kobo's site and on the same book downloaded as an .epub from Kobo's site and sideloaded to my Aura HD. On both, I got the same number of hits. The .kepub.epub gave me the correct chapters for each search item, the .epub gave me Prologue (where the ebook opened) as the chapter for all search items. If I then selected chapter 9 from the TOC, all the searches showed Nine as the chapter for all seach items.

This seems to be the same issue as the annotations in an .epub book showing the last chapter selected as the chapter for all subsequent annotations.

Do you get a stack_xx.log (x is a number from 0 to 9) in the root of your Aura HD's internal storage? The one I generated trying to remove a bookmark follows:

Was the book you tried ePub or kepub? Like I said in my post there was no problem in the kepub it was only ePubs that had the problem.

I tried it on over a half dozen books, all with the same result; these were all books I had read before and searched in with no problems in 3.3 (I never got 3.5) I'm afraid Sigil is beyond me, alas.

This is similar to mine; after I posted my original problem I noticed that whatever chapter I got my search term from that was what all the results showed in my search result. I could live with that, it's the results being in a disordered mess (example, on the first page of results with six links to the word's use the first link goes to the 20th use of the word, the second link goes to the 6th use, third link goes to the 14th, fourth goes to 30th, fifth goes to the 1st etc. I go to the second page of results and back to the first and they're all different than a minute before.
