I had bought a Sony PSR 350 years ago but found without a backlight I turned too my phone way to much and the battery on my Sony is failing...so much of my reading is in bed I really need one with the light and hate the eye strain I was getting from the phone was frustrating...so I took advantage of the recent sale and bought myself the Kobo Aura HD (I got it for $138 due to going back and forth and getting quotes and doing the "why should I buy from you rather than down the mall?" Stupidity at Future Shop was astounding...started with their sign "EBOOKS" Really I don't think you are selling eBOOKS...but you do have some EREADERS on display...and went down from there...needless to say that is not where I purchased it...) Only had it for one day but already think it will be my most used. Quite happy with the screen (I'm epub all the way too).

				preferred e-reader

I will only read with my HTC smartphone. The shear portability and convenience (I always have it with me) means I can grab every spare minute, waiting, queuing, travelling, cooking, resting and even working (in some situations).

However, I have just hit a brick wall because my latest purchase will not open. I cannot get past the DRM notice even having signed in to ADE and authorising the device with several eReaders. Any suggestions? |

Would you please share how to do this? I just purchased a book from Waterstones and cannot get past the DRM notice even after signing in with Adobe Digital Editions.

For the tools google apprentice Alf. But you need to sort out your problem with the file first - if you can't download the file the tools are useless. Try contacting the seller

Sorry if I mislead you, I already downloaded the file, just not through an app like Overdrive. It is in a folder on my device.

Incidentally, the vendor (Waterstones) recommended Overdrive though I don't see any way of navigating to local directories with Overdrive. |

I am still using my original PRS-505 (battery recently replaced) and alternate with another 505 I purchased off eBay (which works like new).

I started reading ebooks on Palm PDAs then Palm Treos then Webos phones now on Samsung S4 with Moon+ Reader Pro. I have tried various Kindles and tablets over the years but since I developed the habit of reading on a small device the larger readers were too bulky and inconvenient.

I love having my library in my pocket and my phone is with me always, like the PDA was before. |

I can wrap my head around using a smaller screen like a phone, more than a large laptop or old tablet. I prefer the 6 inch Kindles though. Nothing beats eink for reading long hours.

I read in bed with my ipad, my old early model Kobo sits gathering dust, but with a library of print books of around 3000 I still read print too.

Agree with chookie2. The real thing wins out every time. e-reader only for mobility and material not obtained through a current press - old but true.
