I've switched to the grid background, to check accuracy of the pen. The ink lags a bit behind, but it's perfectly accurate, whereas the WACOM pen on Surface Pro 2 had been off up to 2mm in the corners. I've drawn perfect lines in the Bamboo Page app. I've used the grid line closest to the edge for orientation, about 1.5mm from the bezel. No "jumps", neither in landscape nor in portrait. Actually, the accuracy is stunning, even in the corners. The best pen I've experienced so far in any tablet. Regarding accuracy, my Dell Venue 8 Pro (pen Gen 2) is about the same, but the pen on Dell Venue 8 Pro has to be pressed much harder to the screen, which isn't quite natural handwriting/drawing. The Surface Pro 3 pen has a quite natural flow. Very nice! |

What about wavy and jagged thin lines at slow diagonal line drawing with N-trig, that they say doesn't happen on SP2 Wacom ?

I'm not drawing much, but mainly writing. And especially not drawing slowly. But I've made the test, just out of curiosity. There's a very slight jitter, the slower I draw. But it's far from being as jittery as the example pics you linked to. My simple explanation would be: When I draw that slow, my hand isn't perfectly still anymore. To be more accurate, I've just used my cover as a ruler. Drawing very slowly (about 1cm per second) along the edge of the cover. My hand should be relatively still then, pressing against the edge of the cover. Attached you find the result. Personally, I'm absolutely fine with that. WACOM Bamboo Page App. Upper left: Original drawing from WACOM. Lower right: My slow line. Last edited by mgmueller; 08-31-2014 at 04:22 PM. |

So, I guess, pro illustrators and artist better stick with their SP2 while for average user it's not a big deal.

But quite frankly, I can't imagine Pro 2 actually would fare better in any accuracy test. I've had, respectively still have, 3 WACOM Windows 8 tablets: Surface Pro 1 & 2 and Dell Latitude 10. All 3 behave quite similar: Off about 1mm close to the edges and far off in the corners. Maybe if an artist only draws in the center area, at least 2cm from the bezel, Surface Pro 2 is fine. But over all, Surface Pro 3 to me seems a huge step forward. |

http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/micr...era-awful.html On total of the heat issue, it's also got a sh1tty camera... Three years and MS still can not get it right. Laptop replacement? It can't even replace the iPad. How can SP3 be a OneNote device when the built-in camera is unusable. |

My both my Thinkpad X200T and my $250 second hand Thinkpad T430 has WWAN built in. In fact, Ericsson WWAN adapter can be easily installed on most ThinkPads. Last edited by FinancialWar; 09-01-2014 at 03:41 AM. |

Still I love it, I just take it for what it is. Same for Surface: There certainly are 2 or 3 features on my MacBook Air, I can't perfectly do on Surface Pro 3 yet. But there's definitely no other tablet available (maybe with the exception of some other Windows 8 tablets), that's coming that close. I'm frequently using OneNote (and EverNote), but I don't have any need for the camera. And all cameras on tablets are mediocre at best. Even the one on iPad. |

Are you sure you're using OneNote effectively? Imaging you're in classroom, instead of copy what's on the whiteboard onto your OneNote, you should be able to just take a high quality photo to OneNote. But you can not do that with SP3 because it's camera sucks and lack focus (that's one, it's got fixed focus, seriously WTF!) |

I see a camera on a tablet just as a gimmick. In MY opinion it would be better to not include a camera and make the device cheaper. It is especially ridiculous in the low cost android market.
