Exactly. Or even maybe, shock horror, loading the identical book and using the identical settings, and doing a proper simultaneous side-by-side test (page-turning, menu-opening and choice-making, etc).

Instead you have these two gormless chaps poking semi-randomly at the screen and saying stuff like "well of course yes as you can see the name of the device is different so that's why you get a slightly different result when you press Device Information". The light off on one and on on the other? Uneven room lighting? Different books loaded? Performing tasks at different times? Gah.

What really irks me with their H2O review is they pointed out that the sync activity is now being displayed on the top of the screen, like what is being synced, downloaded, etc. And they make it sound like it's a new feature on the Kobo... My Glo has been doing that since I bought it Jan this year...

I think the idea was to compare the latest device with the next latest device and see the differences. But, as Kobo is updating all the devices to have the same firmware and functions, and the only differences are hardware related things, that doesn't make sense. Testing an out-of-the-box Aura with an updated Aura would be more useful.

The bit where I nearly stopped was when they compared the library settings screens. The commented that the Aura had more options, but didn't notice that the Aura H2O had an extra screen of options. That's their heads, not mine.

Kudos to you. My frustration at watching their pointless video has at least been eased by laughing (and nodding in agreement) at your nicely put description of it.

I'm hoping it will become part of their prizes in the monthly (or nearly monthly) trivia contests. I continue to hope that they will sponsor a giveaway of a reader on my blog. Plans have I, plans have I!

Neither am I. When I saw the £139 on the comparison page I was planning to buy one, but at £180 I won't.

I'm just trying to find out what the official word on UK pricing is. £189 does sound very high though, and the HD is £129 (according to WHSmith website) so I'd say £139 is about right, but will report back when and if I get a reply.

The Aura released at 139 in the UK and the price is going up for the US in Canada. On the other hand, the BP has strengthened significantly compared to the Canadian dollar since Apr of 2012 so it's possible that the price might not change at all. It might actually be cheaper (yeah, right. lol)

The pre order page is still showing £180, so we are hoping it's launching at £140, eventually.

That is on the Kobo UK website, correct? What is the Aura HD listed at price wise?

The Aura HD is listed at £129 by Kobo in the UK (it was originally £139).

Further indication that it is just a mix-up in the price comes from various news reports on it's release. The Telegraph along with PocketLint, Stuff & The Gadget Show all state it'll be £140:
