Good morning, everyone! Important holiday for us bikers today. In 1885, Gottlieb Daimler patented the world's first internal combustion motorcycle, and gave the world happiness. Four wheels may move the body... but two wheels moves the soul. Time spent on a motorcycle is NOT deducted from your lifespan! So to honor Herr Daimler, I'm raising my mug of Assam Marangi Second Flush, a tea I bought last year from Germany's TeaGschwendner. Not a favorite of mine, but I wanted to try one of their teas and ordered it. Not a 'bad' brew, just not a great one. It seems to missing the depth that the East India Company Assams have. It's been sitting in the back of the shelf and I decided I needed to use it or lose it.

Almost no more drugs, (15 years ago you could buy marijuana, opium, and 'magic mushrooms' openly in almost every guest house, restaurant, bar, etc.,) tourist visas for only 30 days renewable just once, etc. In fact, a new alcohol law goes into effect today... No drinking after midnight. No drinking in public areas (no beer at picnics at the park or lake,) no alcohol advertising, no more Happy Hour or special promotions. That's going to see a LOT of the older expats moving to Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam! I'm glad I'm not a bar person.
