Just came in from walking Norton around the house. It took about 20 minutes. Alone, I can walk around the house in a couple of minutes or so, but then again, I don't relieve myself in the yard, and even if I did, I wouldn't see the need to do an in-depth olfactory examination of every place I've urinated each time I passed it. The way Norton goes at it, you'd think it had the same effect on him as catnip has on cats.

Our butler showed up (yay!), and I asked him what a group of butlers are called, but he didn't respond. He's quite a reticent fellow; I can't get two words out of him. Heck, for that matter, I can't even get one word out of him. He's obviously stuck up. I'd give him the old heave-ho if he wasn't so good at his job.

With summer returning with a vengeance this week (+90 F temps & humidities), I dashed out and ran the mower again tonight while it was still pleasant - everyone in the neighborhood must have watched the same weather forecast - I could hear mowers firing up all around me.

I think it's YOU they're watching, Pooh. That's twice now you've said you heard mowers firing up around you, as you mowed your lawn!

You're right! It must be in the air. I even mowed Felicity's lawn this morning! I used a pair of scissors and it took me almost 27 seconds. (I've been checking out on of those automatic push model mowers, but I'm still not convinced.) It looks much nicer now. My wife just seeded a brand new, bigger lawn for her yesterday. She used a 16" dish instead of the 12" we've been using.

Just sitting here, browsing MR, and waiting for our neighbour to come over with her Will - she wants me and my wife to witness it for her. Wonder how much she has left us...

(actually, we still have her upright piano that she lent us a couple of years ago. Maybe we'll be allowed to keep it).

Lexie had officially welcomed my home.

All day yesterday she ignored me. Early thos morning she came into my room and she seemed to have divided her attention today between trying to get rid of the dog smell on my slippers and sleeping on my bed.

The real welcome came tonight. When I got upstairs a coughed up hairball was awaiting me. Unfortunately she had just eaten before coughing up the hairball.
