Kobo Discounts: Coupon Codes + Discussion - Page 647

I'm wondering if Kobo is wanting to boost it's sales figures in the UK, US and Canadian stores and that's why the Contest codes are now one use per account, as opposed to just one use and then a dead code .....

This could be quite a deliberate move on Kobo's part.

Can't use them in Germany, though - the books would be discountable there. Good that I traveled today.

Don't know if you're interested, but in the U.S. store I was able to use a coupon on a German (publisher) book - helene tursten/btb Verlag. But now I can't come up with workable search results from that publisher to find more...still playing around with it.

I seldom read German books (at least not if they are translated from English) but you'll never know - there might be some in the future and I'll make sure to check before buying.

I just bought "The Book of The Thousand and One Nights," (an edition I specifically desired) for about $22, saving over $70.

I think in the first instance you just need to try the code on a book that you already know is discountable in the UK. Try perkopolis on it and if it works then you know that it's discountable. If the Contest code then doesn't work then you'll have your answer.

Hopefully there will be some UK Contest players who post their 75% and 65% codes.

I seem to recall that there 6 (?) publishers who don't usually discount - is that right?

Anyone remember who they are?

Doesn't this take us back to the pre India/Mexico/Singapore etc days when we could just use the codes everywhere and especially in countries where there were no publisher restrictions.
