Thanks for posting these. Both titles are 99 and $1.99 at Google and B&N so the publishers either didn't include Kobo in the promo or it was a Kobo failure.

Hmz... I was able to think of a few, off the top of my head. I have the Honor Harrington series up to book 11, and some of the side story books, through the Baen CD's. I have acquired some of the more recent ones, using the 75% codes:

Mission of Honor, Book 12, of which only an ARC is distributed (paid $1.75)
Rising Thunder, Book 13, free ARC only as well (paid $1.75)

Shadow of Freedom... uh... Book 14, or Honorverse #5, or Saganami #3... opinions seem divided. Wikipedia, Goodreads and Honorverse Wiki all say different things, but reading the blurb and a bit of the plot, it seems Saganami #3 fits best. (Paid $2.25)

I think I'm also missing "Beginnings - World of Honor #6", and some others, but I'll have to check the Baen CD's and my Calibre library first. I don't want to buy double books.

Paying €4.35 for three books is a good deal IMHO

Karma for all the posters of these codes!!

Note 1
These codes were from either US or Canadian games (as far as I know) and may therefore only work in both the US and Canadian Kobo stores.

Note 2
The codes will only work once per account (multi tabbing works)

Note 3
The codes will only work on books that are discount eligibile - that is - where the publishers allow discounts.

Enjoy!!

When multi-tabbing my code just then in the US store I had the following message come up after the 2nd purchase went through:
'Ooops, something went wrong, please try again' (or words to that effect)

and I was brought back to the Complete purchase page.

I decided to check my Library anyway and sure enough the 3 books that I'd gotten that message for were in My Library.

This procedure is different to the previous times I've multi-tabbed in that I keep being brought back to the Complete Purchase page and for all intents and purposes it seems that my transaction did not go through.

Whereas previously I was brought to the Error 500 (or whatever) screen.

I have noticed this weeks ago already, but decided not to mention it because I didn't know if multi-tabbing was common knowledge (and it could be seen as misuse of the codes). If you multi-tab, the server will generate an Error 500 (internal server error) for some reason, probably because it tries to make a code unusable, which was already done with the previous purchase. Still, as you have already bought the book and paid for it, it will still be in your library.

I'm still getting the Error 500 page.

It looks like Kobo is searching for a way to check on the code used, and if it got through before, to block the sale. It can be done, quite easily if need be, assuming that Paypal supports instant refunds...

@katsunami ... I've been getting the Error 500 code for maybe 2 months, but this is a different error (as described).

The difference for me is that when I get the Error 500 code I'm in the India store, on this occasion I've been in the US store (because the Contest codes don't work in India)

I see the logic in the code you've written. Maybe you should delete it because if Kobo haven't already worked it out then you've done the job for them.

If you check your purchase history the error book(s) will be missing from there, and you won't get an email receipt. Probably not a big deal or anything unless there is a problem with the book.

Meh. I've removed it, but if Kobo engineers can't think of a way to fix this, then they deserve their site to be raided. I can think of multiple ways to prevent multi-tabbing, depending on how Paypal works and wants the data to be delivered. My suggestion above was just one of a few possible scenario's.

(This scenario assumed that there is no way to check if the code is already used BEFORE sending the data to Paypal; so you'd do it afterward, rolling back the sale.)

Oh, and I don't really care about the book not being in the purchase history, if the book gets into the library. I always download, un-DRM, and backup the book as soon as I buy it.

After I download it and I have it in un-DRM'd, in Calibre and backed up, the library at Kobo can explode into smithereens as far as I'm concerned. I never use it. The chance of me losing my entire ebook library is almost zero. (The only way to do it is to burn down several locations at the same time, on purpose.)

At least one of the codes worked in the UK store as well where the books I wanted where discountable (they weren't in the US or Canada) so they might all work.

Can't use them in Germany, though - the books would be discountable there. Good that I traveled today.
