From the descriptions I've read, it sounds as if the screen will be a capacitive touch like the Aura so the recessed area for the IR sensors will not longer be available to catch crumbs, dust, sand, whatever.

Yes, me too. Although I don't need to be a "first adopter." But I will probably sell my Aura and get one of these instead, some time this fall. (Assuming they don't have issues selling to the US as they have with other device releases). I'll wait for some reviews and opinions.

The pinprick light spots in the first shipments of Aura HDs were caused by minute dust particles getting under the glass, they irritated a lot of people and resulted in some returns. Kobo fixed it this time and I think they deserve credit.

On the other hand, how can they advertise the improvement? In a positive way, I mean.

I imagine that if it can keep the dust out it can keep out moisture so why not toot their horn?

I would buy one provided it keeps the big screen, they make it brighter, make it capacitive touch (well spotted vandafc), keep the memory footprint of the HD, keep the SD slot and maybe put in a bit faster CPU with a bit lighter weight. The price of the HD was about right but I figure to pay what a product costs to make as long as it is worth it to me.

Oh, and they should let me buy it from the Kobo web site rather having to wait for one of the local indie bookstores to decide to sell them. (I don't understand what's going on there.)

So.....

1) What would you be willing to pay for a Dust/waterproof Kobo?
2) Why would you want a Dust/waterproof Kobo?
3) What colors should be optional for said Ereader?
4) Last question, What features should be available!

Answer any all or any way you feel to the above questions. Do not limit yourself to just these questions provide any feedback you feel is important to your self and lets run with it guys!

JAck

1) What would you be willing to pay for a Dust/waterproof Kobo?

I would be willing to pay up to $150

2) Why would you want a Dust/waterproof Kobo?

So if you have to stand outside in the rain you can still read and for the bath tub

3) What colors should be optional for said Ereader?

Don't much care about color. Just make sure there is a cover available that is reasonably priced

4) Last question, What features should be available!

I like what I have on my Aura HD the light expandable memory.

Sigh; I wish you would stop posting this. There is ZERO evidence to that effect, and in fact, knowing Kobo it's quite QUITE unlikely.

That makes the most sense. Android is not really suited for e-ink screens.
