I thought they might skip the contest completely this month since I've seen them trying other types of promo! So it's not all bad. Plus they are still giving away kobo readers and I'm still trying to win one of those. :>)

and coupons don't work with pre-orders. I always thought they were kind of advertising the books in the contest in the hopes people might buy them or something, but since coupons don't work with preorders that would be counter-intuitive. Not that Kobo excels at logic or anything...

I agree with you on both your observations. When they had that Roy Jenkins biography by John Campbell on their contest I bought that book and also quite a few of RJ's books. Not that I have read any of them.

Yes, it vanished along with the lines about what the contest will be about. I posted on my blog about it and even found some books that I think my readers will like...and then had to post a...well, maybe it's coming. I'll be holding off on any more posts/books until there are actual coupons.

I wonder if they meant to start tomorrow? I wonder if it's just Kobo being kobo...maybe they don't have enough pre-order books to talk about in the trivia?

I tried at 1:00 pm and then noticed that it said EST not EDT so I figured it would be at 2:00. Maybe somebody told them that coupons don't work on preorders and they hadn't realized that so they pulled the contest?
