But for others who will use the device as a phone... unlocked isn't really necessary.

You'll find a mix here. Some of us want to use these phones as media players, whiles others as phones/media players.

One thing I would like to mention concerning whispersync that I have not seen addressed, although I may well have missed it, is Omnibus editions. I own three and have not been offered whispersync pricing on the audiobooks for any of them. I didn't expect to get a whispersync omnibus but as I have purchased the books, I did expect whispersync pricing. Nope. |

My tech savviness is very limited--it seemed like a really big deal to me to get an unlocked phone last year! But since it worked fine, I figured that was the way to go again now.

http://www.amazon.com/Wool-Omnibus-E.../dp/B0071XO8RA Or is that different because the parts are really short stories?

Downpour has some Hard Case Crime audiobooks on sale for $4.95. Downpour's weekly deal is Homer Box Set: Iliad & Odyssey, translated by W. H. D. Rouse, narrated by Anthony Heald, also $4.95. |

FYI I use H2O wireless and pay $10 for 3 months. Calls cost:5 cent/min, texts: 5cent/each deducted from the $10.

True enough, but I have an account with both - at Audible's suggestion, even. I just looked - the whispersync Kindle titles have the same ASIN number in both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. Amazon has a function for transferring your Kindle from one country to another. I've been considering a trip to England for some time, so theoretically I could make the swap, get the Kindles, add the whispersyncs to my Audible.co.uk account, and switch back on my return. Problem is I don't know whether I would lose books (or possibly other digital content) or not - too chicken to try.
