I looked at it, but what's the point? It will still need changes in the OSX version of ADE, and I doubt Adobe would use an unofficial library.

Possibly not. But, there is a bit of motivation for them to do this. I assume that there is some monitization of DE. They aren't giving it away out of the goodness of their heart. If they(someone) could port the DLL to Mac then that gives Adobe more reach. While Sony doesn't seem to care about Mac users, Adobe does... evidence by the fact that pretty much all their products have a Mac version, including DE.
